The site tells you how wonderful their product is but offers no cost information
The site tells you how wonderful their product is but offers NO cost information untill after you've provided all your credit card information. IF you go to the next page to learn how much it costs, they send you their product even if you tell them you DON"T want it and then offer you a complex method to return it.

have not received my order
I order a magic jack over the phone (1800-240-7162) on 5-18-2010. $46.90 was deducted from my bank account on 5-18-2010. To date (6-12-2010), I have not received my order. I call the number and can't get anyone on the phone.

False Ad and Claims
Magic Jack claims customer can make phone calls in any length of time with in u.s. using their USB connecting dongle and an internet connection. I have a T1 and fast computer. But The company cuts off its phone calls after 3 minutes and 10 seconds. It used to be every 2-3 times a week they cut off the phone calls after the time (Summer 2009-Winter 2009). Now, as of 2010 March, phone calls get cut offed every time after 3 minutes and 10 seconds. I complained to the customer service (no phone number to call only website, email and automated chat line). They act like they are going to do something about it but nothing was done and it is getting worse.

REFUND POLICY
MAGICJACK REFUSED TO REFUND THE UNUSED PORTION OF MY SERVICE AFTER I CANCELED, STATING THEIR POLICY IS NO REFUND. THEY EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO "SPREAD THE WORD" ABOUT THEIR COMPANY, BUT OBVIOUSLY ONLY IF IT'S A "GOOD" WORD. WELL, I WENT WITH ANOTHER COMPANY BECAUSE MY MAGICJACK WORKED LESS OFTEN THAN IT SHOULD HAVE; WAS CONSTANTLY CAUSING ME TO REBOOT MY COMPUTER AND HAD A FAINT SIGNAL ABOUT 80% OF THE TIME. IT WAS ALSO VERY SLOW TO BOOT UP EVERY DAY. I ASKED FOR A REFUND AND WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPANY DIDN'T GIVE REFUNDS. WELL, I DON'T SUPPORT COMPANIES WHICH DON'T SUPPORT THE CUSTOMER. BUSINESS IS A TWO-WAY STREET. NO MAGICJACK FOR ME!

Unauthorized charges
I ordered the majic jack phone jack, with the assurance from their advertisement that I would not be charged for thirty days, well that was not the case. I was charged approximately two weeks after placing the order, and I had not received the merchandise yet, because it was lost in the mail to me.

Ten "agents" tried to find a solution to the inability to call out or receive calls.
For almost a year of a 5 year purchase plan ($98), our Magic Jack was operational, but it just stopped last night. After chatting online with ten different, yes, TEN of their agents yesterday and today, there is still NO resolution. There is a dial tone, but a dailed number is not reached, nor can a call be received. I requested a new USB extension cord, (as one agent thought that might be the problem), but was told that they were only shipped with a new packaged unit. When I requested that I receive a new unit, the chat line was dropped. Presently, I am a very unhappy customer who has spent too much time and no solution to the problem.

Unauthorized billing
I have had the following problems with this item; malfunctioning product; does not change phone number; I do not have a real phone number in which I can talk to a live person and report these problems; ask for help and ask for an exchange in product since mine is malfunctioning a lot. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. They have on line chat people that the type in area to text them doesn't work. So how I am I suppose to get any!!! Help!!!
This business seems like a big rip off to me! I can't return the item; I can't change the number? I can't even send it back to a reputable address in which I only have a P.O. Box and that's all! I've been very upset about this! I wanted some kind of help or solution of this problem and I get zilchin return! Just magicjack taking my money and that's it!!!
I would like some help in this problem! This sounds like a fradulent company to me! No help! No restitution! I guess my problem!

Faulty service
The MagicJack does not work as advertised. I have had the device for several weeks and spent numerous hours on the chat line (no direct phone assistance) to resolve the problem. The connection is interrupted every 3 minutes with a pause to the service. The interruption is about 2 seconds long and disrupts the conversation. If quality service is important to you do not purchase this device.
If you want a cheap communication tool and you do not care about the quality, this device is for you.
