Magnivis / Parsons Marketing Group Reviews

Things don't add up
If you are looking for any background on this company as a sales rep, don't knock yourself out as you won't find much of anything. While it's expected that a commission-only position might take a few months to generate some income, I worked for these guys for several months and never made a dime. But more importantly, I never got my questions answered or support needed with a start-up company. First clue is that the job postings for Magnivis say they are a division of Parsons Marketing Group. The company website was nearly identical to Magnivis, but never told you much about them and was recently shut down. They also talk about being backed by a company called Worldwide Data Labs. Same thing - can't find anything about them. Next - the CEO named on the website, Gene Waxman, 'supposedly' isn't around because he is too busy selling off another company. The COO on the website, Angela Matthey, left and nobody was told about it, which could be a clue as to why she doesn't even list Magnivis on her LinkedIn profile any more. Word on the street was that she never got paid for her work with Magnivis. And the creme de le creme, Richard Davis, the supposed founder and/or National Sales Manager. Very eloquent with his words and able to spin this company into the next big dot com. He says he works out of the Ukraine, backed by Parsons and WWDL, yet whenever questioned about those companies he gets extremely defensive and changes subject. Says they have more capabilities to perform all the data research in the Ukraine. While that might be so, why so private about everything else?

They have job postings across the US right now that lead you to believe that the company is well backed financially, has tons of employees, medical insurance and a long list of clients with tons of successes. As of the end of April, 2010, there were less than 5 active sales reps or managers, only a handful of sales since they started up in December (which had quite a few snags in delivery), no benefits and pretty much no communication throughout the organization. They have gone through just under 100 employees in less than 6 months.

As far as delivering services to their customers, they might actually deliver but with so few sales, who knows how long they will be in business? If anyone can find anything verifiable about these folks, post away. The rest of us would love to know if there actually was something behind the smoke and mirrors instead of being a bunch of highly capable professionals who drank too much Kool-Aid.
