Faulty Mailing List

Web Mailing List promised to provide us with 400, 000 iphone/ipodtouch users list and alsoprovide services as Campaign Service Manager.

They charged us $15000 and we paid it in full.

Webmailings had delivered a list that was not to our specs, due to which we aren’t getting any response from the campaigns.

They hadn’t delivered on the date they promised (19th Aug), while we mentioned that the order is time sensitive (prior to approving the work). They delivered four days later

The guy who sold (Jo Gibson) never replied to emails and never took the phone calls subsequent to the sale.

While we ordered for a gen pop of iphone / ipodtouch users database, they delivered a list of business owners / CEOs / Presidents in the US. This was not the specs

We asked for replacing at least half the list with gen pop, but they never got back.

Over and above that they promised that all the emails are permission based and opt-in. But, now we realize that it is going as scam.

Please advise us on how to recover our money from them and request you o look into this to stop any future fraudulent activity.

Mailing Lists

I have over 5, 000 people receiving their advertising on an e-mail alias and we have unsubscribed numerous times. I have called twice and it keeps coming. They were with an e-mail service that dropped them, joined another seems they have dropped them. Now I am back to calling the company. This is not acceptable. DO NOT EVER GIVE THEM YOUR E-MAIL address!

I apologize for the unwanted mail you have received from this sender and made sure the address was opted out of the account (I didn't find any record of the other listserve addresses.) We have disabled the account and are speaking with the sender about their violations and will close the account if they can't do some serious explaining. I actually spoke with Richard from Vertical Response to get a bit more backstory on what happened before (ChickDowntown is a new customer for us, as well, that came over after they left their previous provider) and he was very helpful in providing us with some additional information. We also certainly share the same policies and sentiments in regard to spam and adherence to our Acceptable Use Policy and this type of mailing activity is something we do not tolerate

Again, my apologies for this mail. Please let me know if you have any further questions we can do anything else to assist.

I have unsubscribed the alias e-mails over 20 times. I called the company and asked to be removed. I have since apologized to the students for the mass spamming by Chickdowntown. Right now I have over 5, 000 students who are receiving these e-mails daily. Please take immediate action and remove all the following e-mails from ALL mailing list of Vertical Response. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter."

First, allow me to apologize that you encountered this sort of problem with a company using our service. Chickdowntown has only been using our service for two days, and I have completely shut down their account as of this morning due to complaints like yours. I can promise you that we had nothing to do with their previous emails and in no way condone what have clearly been absolutely terrible list management practices on their part. I'm embarrassed that they were even able to send any email out through our service. And I will do everything I can to make sure they are unable to mail your listserv addresses again (though my powers here are limited), even if they pop up at another service provider.

Note that I've also added your listserv addresses to our blacklist, as there is absolutely no reason any client would legitimately have such addresses on their mailing list.

Please also note that VerticalResponse does not maintain mailing lists of any sort for sale, rent, distribution or any other purpose. We are an Email Service Provider, companies use our service to send email the same way an individual might email someone through Yahoo. Our clients provide the addresses (limited to their own use) and must sign an agreement that everyone on their list requested information directly and specifically from their company - meaning no purchased, rented, borrowed, harvested or third party lists of any kind are allowed under any circumstances whatsoever. Clients who violate this policy are banned.

We hate spam and work extremely hard to keep it off our network. Thanks for bringing this problem to our attention, and please let me know if you have any comments, concerns or questions.
