Without going into explicit detail, I for one, am thoroughly appalled at the way I was treated by Tina Howard, the owner of Majestic Mountain Sage. I recently applied for a job opening that was being advertised by MMS that I heard about from my great aunt, who has been a longtime customer.
After sending in my resume, I made 3 attempts to contact them in a 17 day period; nothing more than a friendly hello and a simple request to see how the interview process was moving. After going the extra mile and sending a thank you letter to the owner for the chance to be considered for the position that was still open, I was greeted to a voicemail on my machine that was from Tina Howard herself, the owner of Majestic Mountain Sage, informing me that I was to never enter her establishment again and to have no further contact with her or anyone in her company under threat of a RESTRAINING ORDER. I am in total shock to hear that she has already filed a similar order against a young lady that was also interested in the same position. Bear in mind, that if I even suspected that my pursuit was too much (despite the scarcity of good jobs in town right now) or being viewed as overly aggressive or combative, I would not be compelled to take the time and write this down. I was raised to be honest and truthful in all my dealings with others. I served an LDS mission in France and also served in the US Navy during the Gulf War and came back home to finally settle down and be a part of the town I missed so much over the years. I wouldn't dare tarnish this town's reputation with nonsense and gossip if it were not God's honest truth.
This is a quaint, peaceful town comprised of hard working, honest, decent christian people. I, personally, came back for just that reason and am utterly shocked and appalled by the behavior of this woman. A grown individual acting in such an immature and unchristlike way is beyond me. I pursued this job prospect because many family and friends within the community have done business over the years with this company and suggested I go after this job. Obviously, every one of them have since been in disbelief over my mistreatment and moreso her behavior.
I admonish anyone who does business with someone of such unrighteous dominion to think twice about future dealings. This is unacceptable behavior for someone who proposes to align themselves within a community or faith that preaches love, kindness and family.
I am truly saddened for Sister Tina Howard and only pray she can one day see what a shame she has brought upon herself and the community by acting so callous.
