I am writing to make a complaint about the web-based company “MANXFLIGHTS.COM”, a member of both ABTA and IATA.
I recently made a booking with this company to fly from Birmingham to the Isle of Man.
After doing some research, I chose this company as their fares seemed to be equivalent to booking directly through the airline, but with less fuss.
However, after paying for my ticket (which they make sure is non-refundable), I found that there were hidden costs that they had not alerted me to before paying. This made the total booking cost more than booking directly with the airline. What they had failed to inform me of was the extra cost to book luggage on to the flight.
This is misleading lack of information on their part and I feel that the public needs to be warned. I would not have chosen their company had I suspected that the price was higher than originally quoted.
I complained directly to the company but they have refused to carry these extra costs.
They appeared to be unaware of this deficiency in information on their site.
I hope that by complaining, other members of the public can be warned against using this company.
If there is any kind of pressure you can place on this company to refund the costs of my ticket I would appreciate it. I feel uncomfortable using their company now and would prefer to book through someone else.
