Unprofessional/ Ineffective Services
I hired this moving company to transfer a queen sized hospital bed from one private residence to another (my own residence). Upon arrival for the pickup of the bed and matress, the move went rather well but the person who sold the bed to me was shocked to hear the language of the owner, Abe, while he and his helper loaded their truck. He used the word "f*ck" numerous times while moving the bed out of her house and onto the truck. When Abe and his worker began unloading the truck after arriving at my home, the major issues ensued from there. When I booked this mover I had stated to him that it was a hospital bed and it had to go over a banister and up a narrow stair case to the second floor of a two family home. The two men struggled with the matress and we had to remove the railing from the steps. No big deal, right? WRONG! As I was unbolting the banister, Abe, the owner, insisted numerous times that I "hurry up" and "move faster" because he "had other places he needed to be". The entire time that they struggled to move the bed frame he belittled his employee, Billy. "What the f*ck are you doing Billy?", etc. My 26- year old daughter ended up instructing the so-called "professional movers" how to angle the bed and actually physically lift the bed with these two men to get it up the staircase. She was in a sundress and when the bed finally made it upstairs Abe said to my daughter "Don't you think you should've worn something more appropriate for moving furniture?" No, I don't think she should have because I was not paying her to move furniture, I paid Abe and MAP Trucking, unfortunately. On to moving the actual matress for the bed, it was considerably less of a struggle and my daughter watched from the porch while she smoked a cigarette. Once the matress was upstairs Abe and Billy were going to attempt to put the railing back in place. Before attempting to do so, Abe said to me "What is your daughter's name?" I told him Jessica and he said "Well tell her to get in here and help us because we're going to need it." He then proceeded to make a comment about her taking a cigarette break as if she was under his employ. My father was actually present while the move was happening and he told us to "Get the old man out of the way." When the railing was set back in place Abe said to me "Pay me so I can get out of here." When my daughter heard this she began speaking to him about the fact that he did get paid and the job did get done but perhaps it would be a better idea next time to come out and give an estimate based upon seeing the home. Abe, the owner, used vulgar language towards his employee, insulted my father, did not seem to have the 28-years of experience he claimed to have and needed my daughter to help him move furniture despite the fact that I was paying him to do the service. I completely understand that it was an extremely hot day in mid-July but that is exactly why people call movers and I did not encourage this man to go into a physically demanding field such as owning a moving company, maybe he should take summers off? Do not use this company to move.
