Staff
As a 20 year patron of the local Marketplace IGA, I am dismayed at some of the innapropriate staff. The most disconcerting is by a 60+ senior male staff member who makes overly familiar remarks to me and violates my personal space. This indvidual is mocking and condescending and has even followed me around the store so I would acknowledge his presence. I've even tried to time my purchases when the person's delivery vehicle isn't there. This person often complains of his lack of money and makes remarks of how the rich can afford certain items. He has even threatened to have my family's small business audited. This man has had recent serious health issues; I am aware that he chose a low-paying career, but that isn't my fault. I have tried to be civil and I don't want him to lose his job, but I am getting fed up. This all started happening about 3 years ago when my mom had phoned and ordered some birthday cake to be delivered to my house. The person I am complaining about delivered it and the innapropriate remarks started coming immediately afterwards. My family and I work have worked very hard raising four children, establishing teaching careers and being employers where we hire train youth to apprentice in a trade. We are deeply involved in the community and give back to society in a variety of ways. This store is convenient and has a nice selecition of grocery items. It also as my bank's atm machine. I am tired of being harrassed; all of this upsets me because prior to the cake delivery, this man was very decent and polite. Other rude staff members are disposed of fairly quickly as the store is quite professional; this man's actions may force me to contact the head office to lay a formal complaint, which is unfortunate.
