Sub.: Problems with the New Maruti 800AC LPG purchased from M/s Standard Auto Agencies, Jabalpur (M.P.)


Dear Sir,

I, Komal Narang shop.No.2 Sai Collection Prem Nagar, Madan Mahal, Jabalpur(M.P.) had purchased one new Maruti 800 AC LPG by your authorized dealer of Jabalpur M/s Standard Agencies.I have purchased a new car 800AC LPG on 28/07/09 & I have pay before 1 month but from the first day problem are coming, the back light is off.The noise in Engine very much, not running in LPG mode.

When I ask Mr. Ashish Patel(Sales Executive) to check my car in LPG mode in show room, he ask me that there is no LPG in car & all is OK.and By purchasing original Maruti CD player from showroom the mechanic had cut 8 to 10 wrings fitted wise.I complained next day about this & executive ask me the car sending my driver but on 08/08/09 they ony send a mobile wan, they check my car over their only. But the problem is not small the problem is too big & the problem is the car come automatic in gas mode and after few minute come in petrol mode & in workshop they have check all wire also by removing central locking & CD player also. In these problems the driving of this car is very dangerous; the mechanics of workshop are illiterate. they are just road side mechanics, they can’t find any problem in my car.

Sir, from the above it is very clear that, the car is defected by Engine & as pipeline side so please change my PCS because its very dangerious.Obtaining payment of new car which is highly objectionable and for which I will go to Consumer Forum>further they are believing in selling the vehicle and not in satisfaction of consumers.

Sir, I had following problems in the car as with your dealer:- Interior portion of

1.the vehicle was very dirty inside {INTEROR} &out side.

2.The mat of the vechicle was also very dirty.

3.The behavior of the officers/proprietor of Standard Agencies was very bad, & in your Regional office the mam who had pick my phone hold me for 30min because she is talking with his friends about party, and when talks finish she said OK I will ask your problems to seniors and cut the phone, this is the way to talk to you regular customer? Now I want that piece of 800 AC LPG new one, for which M/s Standard Aut Agencies, Jabalpur (M.P.) may kindly be advised at your end.

The your officer’s are very badly behave with customers, they never present in cabin.whenever try to meet them, they will wait about 4 hours, after that they are out of seat.The Mr.Vikas Saini, Mr.A.K.Pathak, Mr.Ajay Shukla, Mr.Tomar Parihar, Mr.Shailendra Singh, Mr.Atul, these all know about my problems but they only suffer me by sending me to cabin to cabin.Miss.Shabnam is also not good she always chit chat with their male friend about party, dress but she never talk about solution of my problems.

Kindly note thai if I note that if I not receive new parts within 2 days from the date of this letter/fax than I have no option except to go to Consumer Forum for which the Maruti Company as well as dealer of Jabalpur M/s Standard Auto Agencies, Jabalpur(M.P.) will be fully responsible.

4.All doors are running very hard /bonut have a lot of gap/full body viberating and second gear is to hard this all problem are written in job card but not solve. And the standard agencies feel proud that they are doing 120 cars for serviceing but they dot satisfied the coustmer. The most big thing is that the senior &labour class said that your car value is 30, 000/_only when I complain to mr tomar he ask me to show those people next day he take off. I think that I am cheated by standard auto or by maruti company because I have pay more than 2.50 lac if standard auto oner have no four wheeler I will gift him by my side. IF MARUTI COMPANY DON’T TAKE ANY ACTION I WILL FIRE MY CAR IN FRONT OF SHOWROOM. THIS IS LAST WARNING IN OMNI THEY DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF MY VAN AND I HAVE SALE THAT VAN FOR LOSE OF 70, 000/THOUSAND. AND I AM SENDING THIS LETTERE TO ALL DEALER OF MP&OTHER STATE .And mr parihar call me in his cabin & ask what work u r doing I said that I am in journalism line & my father have a business {disturburter} of luggage vip, aristocate, safari & other bag manufacturer.then he ask me to witch briefcase is good I ask him that v.i.p odyssey he ask me that the new year is coming so u r giveng me that briefcase in gift I have said that my father is handling that. So sorry I amnot able to give that brefcasebecause is costally near about 2850/-.i think this is the reason they don’t take interast to service my car.

Hope you will take favourable action in the matter and will direct the dealer of Jabalpur to give me better service in future & good washing.Otherwise I have to take Severior against Standard Auto Agencies, Jabalpur(M.P.) & Maruti company.this is last waring I don’t take loss again.

Reference- Previous letter sent (dated 07-09-2009)

Sir,
It has been informed you vide my letter dated 07-09-2009(copy enclosed) that I have been constantly facing difficulties due to some manufacturing defect in aforesaid vehicle, purchased on 28-10-2008 from One Up Motors India Pvt Ltd., 52-C, Sringar nagar, Kanpur Road, Alambagh, Lucknow (Selling Dealer Code-1306) with effect from 26-11-2008 . The Engine Number of car sold to me is D13A1139932 and Chassis Number is MA3FKEB1S00369410 and colour is ZY4-AZURA GREY. On requesting through aforesaid letter dated 07-09-2009, you instructed the “One Up Motors India Pvt. Ltd., 52-C, Sringar Nagar, Kanpur Road, Alambagh, Lucknow (Selling Dealer code-1306) to check out for the fault and its removal. Thus according to the instructions, the dealer took the vehicle on 24-09-1009 and assured me that fault will be removed completely. After completing their services, One Up Motors India Pvt. Ltd., 52-C, Sringar nagar, Kanpur Road, Alambagh, Lucknow (Selling Dealer Code-1306) had returned my vehicle on 27-09-2009 (copy enclosed). They assured me that SWIFT VDI (M) Diesel car has been thoroughly examined for the fault and the fault is completely removed, so there is no chance of facing any problem in the future again.

Despite of the service given by “One Up Motors India Pvt. Ltd., 52-C, Sringar Nagar, Kanpur Road, Alambagh, Lucknow, On 29-10-2009.the SWIFT VDI (M) Diesel car’s engine got off suddenly, thus the car got stop at ring road highway, Khurramnagar, Lucknow and I was not able to reach my destination. SWIFT VDI (M) Diesel car was then carried to my residence by through toeing. That day this problem was informed to One Up Motors Pvt. Ltd.52-C, Sringar nagar, Kanpur Road, Alambagh through telephone and the call was received by Miss. Neha and Miss. Vandana but car was not able to send to the service centre as because of mine busy schedule. Next day after trying many times, the car started finally and was under use along with starting problem. But on 02-11-2009 morning, while going to the Hospital car was again stopped short near Mithaiwala crossing, Gomtinagar, Lucknow and then Mr.Deepak Chahal (Service Engineer, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.) and Mr.Rishikanth Mishra ( Gen. Manager, One Up Motors India Pvt. Ltd., 52-C, Sringar Nagar, Kanpur Road, Alambagh, Lucknow) was informed and car was taken to the service centre.

Through this the only conclusion can be made that the previous service was not effective enough either in finding out the fault or its complete removal. The concern dealer is not in a state to remove the defect. They are just consuming time so that the warranty period may get expired.

This is my humble request to you, to kindly consider the inconvenience faced by me and direct “One Up Motors India Pvt. Ltd., 52-C, Sringar Nagar, Kanpur Road, Alambagh, Lucknow (Selling dealer code 1306)” to replace my SWIFT VDI (M) Diesel car number UP32CP9160 with the new one or else I shall take legal action against the Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. including prosecution under criminal laws etc.

Cheating in the name of Synthetic engine oil

Subject: Complaint against unfair and extortionist trade practice being committed to cheat the unsuspecting customers of Maruti Udyog Limited by Rana Motors (P) Ltd., in the name of effective services.

Sir(s),
I have an association for 15 years with Maruti Udyog limited and am writing this letter with great anguish to you on being cheated by your company and the above named Rana Motors. I am an owner of a Maruti Swift car bearing No. DL 9CR 2942, which I had purchased in the month of June, 2007 from M/s. Rana Motors (P) Ltd and since than I am getting it regularly serviced from said M/s. Rana Motors.

On 10.10.2009, I sent my car for regular paid service through my Driver at Rana Motors, and the service adviser at the work Shop advised and recommended my driver for use that Engine Oil (Synthetic) on the pretext that the synthetic oil is recommended by Maruti for its vehicles, and any ordinary Engine Oil shall be at the responsibility of the owner. He further represented / recommended that we are recommending every customer for use of the Synthetic engine oil as it is better for the Maruti Vehicles. Believing solely on the advice and recommendations of the Service Adviser, my driver accepted the same. The Service Driver did not even bother to inform the Owner (myself) for recommendations for the use of Synthetic engine oil.

It may be worthwhile to mention that in the past I was always recommended to use the regular Engine oil (which may be verified from the service records). When I saw the Service advice memo I was surprised to see how the synthetic oil is recommended instead of regular engine oil. I, confronted my driver for user of the Synthetic Engine oil, on which he told me that “it has been done solely on the recommendations of the service adviser, who had told me (my driver) that in case of use of regular engine oil, if the engine does not perform properly, then Rana Motors shall not be responsible and to avoid any complications I accepted the advice of the service adviser.”

On 11.10.2009 I personally went to take the delivery of my vehicle from the workshop of Rana Motors at Wazirpur Ind. Area. I contacted the service adviser and the service Manager and enquired from them as to why the Synthetic Engine Oil has been recommended instead of regular Engine Oil. Initially they both did not give any answer to my questions but on my repeated questioning they avoided any specific answer and said that they have recommended as per the specification / recommended by the Maruti Udyog Limited and if I have any grievance, the Complaint can be made to the Maruti Udyog Limited.

To avoid any unpleasant situation I made the payment of the service bill and got the deliver of my vehicle. Normally, I always estimated the service charges between Rs. 3000 to Rs.4000, but this service coasted me Rs.7159.00, and this steep escalation in the service cost is purely on account of the advice / recommendation of the synthetic Engine Oil by the employees.

I may ask from yourself if the Service book of our vehicle recommends for the use of regular Engine oil, than why were we forced to use the synthetic oil and, if the Synthetic engine oil is better for the Engine of Maruti Swift Car, than why in the past services, regular Oil (inferior quality oil according to you) was used and the same is recommended.

While choosing to purchase a Martui Swift Car, one of the main considerations for me was the low service / maintenance cost on account of use of the Regular engine oil. If I was aware that in future the service partners / service agents of the manufacturers of Maruti Udyog Limited will force us for higher maintenance cost / service cost, I would not have purchased a Swift Car and would have looked for other options. A person should be taken by surprise by subsequent conduct of your service partners.

M/s. Maruti Udyog Limited has created an impression in the eyes of the general public that the maintenance cost of their vehicles is very low, which I would say is very deceptive and wrong. If we go by the advice of the service advisers of Maruti the service cost of my car is much more than the luxury Cars like Honda Accord. A difference of Rs.3000/- in the cost of service only on account of use of engine oil is major consideration for a middle class person like me.

This may be a very small issue for a big company like Maruti Udyog Limited, but it is a very serious issue for the general public and people like us. This amount of Rs.3000/- may not be that important for me but as a responsible citizen of this country I felt it necessary to bring this illegal and unfair trade practice to your notice for remedial measures to save the image of a manufacturer of affordable cars.

I hope you shall ensure necessary steps to stop unfair trade practice by the service providers, under intimation to me, failing which I shall be at liberty to take appropriate steps at your cost and responsibility.
