Not quality checked vehicle
I am Rajesh, bought a Maruti alto Xfun from Hercules Automobiles Alleppey, Kerala in March 2007. A few month later when the monsoon started we came to know that, water is getting logged inside the car and this is been informed to Maruti as well as the dealer. The same has been repaired by fixing with sealond in the dealer's workshop in May 2007. The same problem is occurred again and the dealer and maruti is not bothered for a permanent solution, when I called maruti, they asked me to followup with Cochin regional office, but they are not sure to whom I should speak for this issue. The post sale support/service is very bad and now I am going to contact consumer protect group for a prompt resolution. My concern here when we contact Maruti for a new purchase, hundreds of their dealers and sales folks does follow-up with so many offers, but when a customer having problem they keep their hands up.

Poor service!
I brought Maruti Wegon R in April 9, 2007 from competent automobile C.P New Delhi. Infect it was my biggest mistake I patronize Maruti Product and more then that I choose competent automobile who are more then worst in customer service. Before purchasing the Vehicle--------“We are here to help you”.
At the time of Delivering the Vehicle---- “you have to Tank ’. I have to wait more then 3 months to get my vehicle because I wanted it in Black color and I got to know form the dealer that wagon R in black color is very limited in the company. I was being advice I should choose another color if I want immediate delivery. At the time of delivery @ Competent Automobile CP showroom the person who will check you the accessories of the vehicle will not give you the vehicle key if you will not give them BAKSHISH.
After delivering the vehicle--------------“Who are you?”. After a long marathon I got my dream car “ IN BALCK COLOR”. At the time of delivery I being assured the necessary document / paper would deliver at my mailing address. It was my dream. When I went to take the documents at Competent CP showroom the person who were responsible for this job were very uncouth. And I could not get my documents. After one month when I again visited the CP showroom of Competent, I shocked to know I have to visit to Lagpat Nagar (Another Showroom of Competent) because the person who deal with me at the time of delivery, now seat at Lagpat Nagar (here I must say the old person who attain me this time was good to some extant and he assured me he will get me my document here at CP only.) I need the document on urgent basis so I went to Lajpat Nagar.
I was really surprise to see the change before purchasing the vehicle they offered me tea coffee water many time (though I am not taking tea and coffee) and after purchasing the vehicle when I went to the showroom to collect my document they never show any politeness but neither offered me a seat nor a glass of water, which may be confirmed with them. This is the dealing which they do with a person, who has just bought a car worth Rs.3.60 lacs.
At the time of Service -----------“Who are you” We are the Boos. This kind of poor service, I do not expect from Maruti which was my dream car. The Car is also having slight problem in the reverse gear. The AC was not working properly. The PIC UP of the vehicle was very poor (I more enjoy driving my old car when the question comes of PIC UP). Sound of engine is like a diesel vehicle. When I raised all these issue at the time of first service in the Competent Automobile Shivaji Marg new Delhi. I being assured for all my concern would be taken care, but the problem remain same. I have to live with it because I had no time to visit again and again in the showroom. I hoped that in the next service all the complaint, would be taken care.
But HO MY GOD the second service of my vehicle was so frustrating. And this time I make up my mind and I educate myself I will not ADVICE ANY BODY TO PATRONIZE MARUTI PRODUCT AND COMPETENT NEVER. In the Second service Date: September 1,2007. SRV/615299. I went to service station around 10:30AM.The service adviser seemed to reluctant attending the customer. My complaint regarding the vehicle was not being attained properly. I was communicated I would get my vehicle within 2 to 3 hrs. After 3 hrs when I asked about the status of my vehicle. I got the reply go and check the status of your vehicle at the workshop. When I went to workshop there were no concern person was available. when I saw my vehicle it was so frustrating to me because the washing was too bad. When I compliant this thing some body told me we have to send the vehicle again for washing. Till the time I have burned my 4.5 hrs. I had no choice except to wait and wait. When my vehicle come after washing still there were mud, but now I don’t want to waste my time again I asked the person who were responsible for polish please clean the mud he said “ Yeh to ise hi rahegi hamare pas jayda time nahi ha”
Inside of the car roof there were many black spot of mechanic fingers. I didn’t ask this thing because I know nothing will happen and I have to waste my time. But I wanted to raise this thing so I filled all this thing in the feed back form I was provided.
Now I almost lost my 6 hrs. Which was use less, frustrated and painful.
THE WHOLE INCIDENT GIVE ME ONE GOOD LESSON NOT TO PATRONIZE MARUTI PRODUCT AGAIN. I THINK SUCH TYPE OF INCIDENT SPOILING THE NAME OF THE COMPANY BUT ALSO DETERIORATION IN THE CUSTOMER SHARE.

Bad repair service done by Maruti Authorize service center!
Model of my car is Alto VX 1.1 of 2001. I was regularly servicing my vehicle at Sagar Automobiles at Nagpur. Total milage of my car is 66000 Km. Few months back, i saw my Engine oil indicator is flashing when ever i cross 90 km speed. i contacted M/s Sagar Automobiles in Nagpur, they told me that Spoiler in Engine is little bit blocked, but not to worry, continue to deceive. I got shifted to BAngalore. I took the vehicle to Bangalore and the moment i reached here its Engine got jammed due to not supply of Ongine oil. I contacted RMS motors and give them fro repair. They told me not to change the Engine block as there is not much damage to it and repair the engine.
They took 4 more days to deliver the car after my lot of follow ups. The moment i got the car, its millage got reduced to 3 km/l & there was lot of smell of Petrol from engine. When i reached my office & checked the engine, i saw there was petrol leakage from the Engine Head & my Sterio & dashboared light was also not working. I called up RNS motors & told them the problem, they refused to send anyone to rectify this problem. Its was not possible to Take the car to RNS motors as there was heavy petrol leakage. I contacted Sagar Automobiles and they came & rectify the problem. I already driven the vehicle for 1300 km after the repair and the millage is near 10km/l as compared to 16 to 17KM/l before repair.
Beware!

Non-committal attitude of Maruti towards delivery
I booked a Maruti Swift ZXi on June 9th 2007. The booking was made through Vipul Motors, Noida with premium advance of Rs. 50,000. I was assured by the Dealer's Sales Representative that the car would be delivered within 6 weeks. In the intervening weeks I made another payment of Rs. 1.5 Lac to the dealer as I thought that it would motivate a timely delivery. 6 weeks have already gone past and I am yet awaiting a confirmation on the date of delivery of my car. Even after repeated queries made to the dealer over the past couple of weeks as well as calls made to the Maruti Regional Sales Manager as also e-mails written to Maruti, I am unable to obtain an answer.
I hereby submit my displeasure over such unprofessional service level, which I did not really expect from Maruti. I hope this posting of my complaint on this forum will help me in escalating this issue to the concerned persons in Maruti for an early resolution.

Bad servicing of vehicle
I stay in a remote place in Assam. I purchased one Maruti WagonR in March2006 from your authorised dealer based in Guwahati (PALLAVI MOTORS PVT.LTD). During my 2nd servicing, I had mentioned about the sound coming out from the front right side, while driving thru bad road. The sound is something like bubbling sound and i suspected, it might be of Tie rod end. When the vehicle was delivered, I was told that all the jobs have benn done. To my surprise nothing was done and the problem still persists.
Then I called up customer care at Pallavi motors, where I was told to bring my Car during 3rd servicing & they will rectify the defect then.
Subsequently, I had sent my car on the 4th of May'07 after giving all the details of the jobs to be done. This time also nothing has been done and the problem still persists. Sir, I stay in a remote place and it is not possible for me to come to guwahati every now n then. I am very very disappointed with the after sales service of yours authorized dealer. I am regretting for buying a vehicle from Maruti Udyog limited. During my 3rd servicing I had even told that- whatever parts are required to be changed I am ready to pay for it, but still the response is very poor. Overall, I had a very poor experience with Pallavi Motorsx, Guwahati, Assam. I am surprised, being such a reputed company, how can you have dealers like this , who doe snot even understand the job or does not want to understand and is not customer friendly. SHAME ON YOU.

Deceptive business practices!
My name is Anish Agarwal and I am writing this complaint with reference to a Maruti Esteem VXI purchased from SAYA AUTOMOBILES, New Delhi.
Complaint Details:
On 6th September 2006, I had booked a Maruti Esteem VXI. As per the final agreement, the dealer offered a final vehicle price of Rs.5, 10,000.00 (including accessories) out of which I had paid Rs.1,50,000.00 as down payment.
The vehicle was delivered on 29th September 2006 along with all promised accessories with an affirmation that the Registration Certificate (Smart Card) shall be delivered within 45 days of the delivery date. However the dealer didn't provide us with an Invoice and a no-dues certificate. Said the same shall be delivered with Registration Certificate (RC).
We didn't receive the RC within 45 days. When contacted the dealer, were told that we owe certain amount towards the vehicle and need to pay the outstanding amount so as to obtain the RC. We asked the dealer about the breakup of the charges which he failed to submit. After much follow-up and escalating the complaint at Maruti Helpline (complaint ref # 324285) the dealer released the RC on 27 th December 2006.
Following on, the dealer has not yet issued us the Vehicle Invoice and a No Dues certificate. The Invoice presented by the dealer mentioned an amount of Rs. 5, 38, 000.00 which we refused to accept due to the price difference of Rs 28,000.00 as against the payment of Rs.5, 10,000.00 paid towards the vehicle.
According to the dealer, the sales executive who had handled the deal left the dealership in Nov 2006 and the same was informed to general public by the dealer by means of an article in Hindustan Times dated 14 November 2006.
We did explain to the dealer that the price difference featuring in the Invoice is the discount offered to us and should be accordingly substituted in the Invoice. However, instead the dealer wants us to write a letter mentioning that the price difference of Rs. 28, 000.00 was paid in cash to the dealing executive and he in turn has not deposited the amount at the dealer cash counter. This is not true and we have declined to write any such letter.
I had tried to call your New Delhi Regional Office at Connaught Place on the numbers provided to me by Maruti Helpline. But not even a single I have received an affirmative response about how to proceed or what steps should be take. Have also written a letter to Mr. Jagdish Khattar (MD, Maruti Udyog Limited) but no response has been received so far.
The following points are noteworthy:
· Why didn't the dealer issue the Invoice at the time of the vehicle delivery?
· The dealer has issued us Vehicle Gate Pass which establishes that the dealer is satisfied with the transaction and there are no dues towards the vehicle.
· If dealer wasn't satisfied with the deal, why was no objection raised between 6 th September 2006 till the date of complaint.
· Also, the dealer mentions the they have terminated the sales executive for some reasons and have published a press release – Why didn't the dealer co-ordinate the task of calling the customers whose files were handled by this executive
I have already called the dealer more than 10 times and have spoken to its General Manager but with no luck. I have recordings of few conversations which should establish the fact the dealer has always been reluctant about issuing important documents like RC, Invoice and No dues certificate.
Many Thanks

Delayed delivery and extortion
A copy of email to Maruti Udyog Limited:
Dear Mr Khattar,
I had booked a Maruti Zen Estilo (Champaigne Beige) on 21st December 2006 and had paid a total of Rs 2,96,329/- (Rs 46,329/- by personal cheque and Rs 2,50,000/- by cheque from my Finance Company - State Bank of India, Main Branch, Pondicherry) at the time of booking. The balance amount was to be paid on delivery of the vehicle.
A waiting period of about 3 to 4 weeks was told to me at booking (which, if it was not possible, looking at the response to the launch of the vehicle should not have been promised at the time of booking) furthermore I was told that if I paid a larger sum at the time of booking I would be delivered the vehicle earlier. When it seemed to me after 4 weeks that there was no sign of the vehicle being delivered I started making calls to the dealership initially to Mr Swamy (Manager Administration) and later to Mr Zyed Rizwan (Manager Sales) but to no avail and used to get very curt replies (to note all calls were made by me and none by dealership). Then I called the Regional Office, Chennai and the Territory Sales Manager took some steps to make delivery possible earlier than later. The vehicle was finally delivered to me on the 5th March 2007 after a total of over 10 weeks!
In the meanwhile prices on all Maruti vehicles were increased from the 1st of February. Since I had booked the vehicle 6 weeks prior to the price hike I asked Mr Rizwan that I be given the vehicle at the booked price because if the vehicle had been delivered as promised in 3-4 weeks I would not have needed to pay the increased price. He refused and later after I spoke to the Regional Office about my case they agreed and further spoke to Mr Rizwan and asked him to deliver the vehicle to me at the booked price.
On being informed that the vehicle had come I went to make the balance payment when I was told that if I was to get the vehicle at the earlier price then I would need to forfeit the “free” basic accessories that was promised to me a the time of booking (Please look up the commitment checklist) and that the bank interest (for 10 weeks @ 3.5%) on the sum paid at advance would also not be given to me!! I had to create a scene to get what had been committed at the time of booking. If given an option to Mr Rizwan, he would have stripped me of my clothes and I guess I would have walked out naked of the dealership that evening. Finally I had to forgo the interest and was given the “free” basic accessories that had been promised at the time of booking. So much for the "commitment"!
After all this happened I regretted the fact that I had opted for a Maruti vehicle and probably the other companies would have treated me better but it was too late. As far as “My Deal” (Dealer Feedback Form) goes with Vasanthi Automobiles, Pondicherry, I found myself cheated both monetarily and of the respect that a consumer should have. Till the time money was paid for booking many promises were made “Sir, we will try and get your vehicle within the first 15 days of January….” the customer was KING, but once the advance was paid and the customer “trapped” who cares. Later on, thinking about why your sales manager etc behave the way they have is probably because you are the only dealers in Pondicherry and the customer has nowhere else to go.
I would like to mention here a special word for Mr Arokiaraj who was the sales executive dealing with me I found him to be a caring and genuinely concerned representative. What probably impressed me was his sincerity.
I had found out the details of Consumer Redressal Forum at Pondicherry for this issue and would have gone to the consumer court as I faced numerous difficulties in the intervening period with my pregnant wife refusing to ride on the scooter with me and the numerous phone calls made to your dealership to the Regional Office etc. the agony though which I have gone though probably I would only know. Later I forgave you and let it pass and am writing this with the hope that you would improve. May be someone else would not be as kind.
I am not writing this letter with any personal gain in mind but to let you know about the chain of events and with the hope that your dealership would improve itself and not give false promises and trap customers . If this is what you are doing to an educated customer God help the others. May be you would ignore this letter without looking into the system and making the necessary changes if required but at least I would sleep in peace thinking that I have done my job.
Hoping that, unlike me who would never recommend your dealership (Vasanthi Automobiles, Pondicherry) to anyone, you would develop customers who would never think of leaving you and would be brand loyal to MUL just because they are treated in a professional manner.
Mr Jagdish Khattar concerned authority please reply, am i asking too much?

Maruri NRI is a fraud - cheating people through false advertisement!
I am NRI presently settled in Netherlands. Attracted by the advertisement of Maruti for their "Dil Se" NRI program to gift a car in India, I booked a Maruti-800 standard and made the full payment vide online transfer (Ref: EM07020030404521) from my Abn Amro Bank to their Citibank account against quotation No. 6157348. I requested the delivery of the vehicle to my lady relative who stays alone in Delhi, hoping that as per advertisement, Maruti will deliver the car at her residence. But on the delivery day, Maruti dealer Rohan Motors, Sarita Vihar telephoned my lady relative asking her to collect the car from their show room. When she informed that she is not a position to collect the vehicle as the show room is very far away from residence and as per scheme they have to deliver doorstep, they refused to do so. As per them, for normal purchase doorstep delivery is possible. But since it is NRI purchase, they have to complete some formalities. I had sent fax to Maruti protesting the behavior of their dealer without any response from them.
This is another example by a reputed company like Maruti doing cheating and fraud to their customers through false advertisement. Can you do something to stop this fraudulent affair.
