Scamming Money Again
I joined match.com for 3 months and when I went to cancel they offered me a special of 3 months for the price of 1 month to stay as a member, so I decided that I would give it another try. I did not have good luck the first time, but thought that perhaps my life circumstances were preventing me from using their services and would give it another shot. Just before my next 3 months were over, I logged into my account that I had not been using because of time constraints and other factors to cancel once again. I had another offer of staying for 3 more months for the price of 1 month and declined this time know that I did not want to be a member even if they paid me to be one.

I was very diligent about making sure that this cancelation went through as I have had 2 other girlfriends get raked over the coals by them in the past and had hundreds of dollars deducted from their accounts due to forgetting to cancel. They tried to get their money back as they were both in serious relationships and did not know of the policy that they were going to automatically renew if they did not physically go into their account and cancel themselves. The company is so shady that not only did they neglect to process my cancelation when I asked them to do so, they proceeded to take $50.98 out of my bank account that I was slowing starting to close and had very limited funds in it.

I got a notice from my bank for an overdraft and I was furious as I have never ever in my entire 35 years on this earth bounced a check or had to use overdraft protection. I called match.com and did get my $50.98 but after numerous calls numerous times, they refused to issue me a check for the $22 my bank charged me. I am very upset at the fact that match.com is scamming people out of their hard earned money. If I were on a very strict budget and needed that $22, then I could have had other financial difficulties paying my bills.

Match.com has become so greedy that they cannot even pay for trying to scam me out of my money. The said “it was a technical glitch in the system and had happened to others”. They refused to give me the overdraft fee from my bank and told me to call my bank and ask them to remove it. It is not fair that I had to spend my time calling them numerous times waiting on hold for long periods of time and talking to their incompetent employees let alone pick up the phone one more time and tell my bank that I was requesting they pay for match.com being a scammer.

Please beware before signing up with match.com. They need to do some serious quality control and get a grip on reality when they are the ones that made the “mistake”. Then think of all of the people that don’t notice the glitch or just suck up the fees for lack of time or other reasons. Match.com is scamming people and they need to stop. Beware. Don’t use their services. They will try and rob your money any way they can.

Important
I had subscribed to match.com by a e-check online and it was for the 6month membership and they sent me a confirmation # of 104524167 . My email is [email protected] and my mom Maria Turner gave me the check from her account and I am giving her the cash to put in since they charged the full amount of 119.94 . Anyways either way it isn't about the money but I probably would have gone with a plan that didn't charge so much right away. We thought it was the 19.99 bundle for six months and that it would come out once a month for 6 months . Well however they did it we paid in full by check number and I was sent a confirm # and put in the correct login and password and it will not allow me to login at all !!! And it keeps driving me back to this page ! I need to know that my account is active and that I can login for what I paid for . I am extremely upset and wondering how it was working earlier today and then just now won't even take the login or password and I have a check floating around with no access to my page . Please let me know A.S.A.P what is going on and why I am not able to login ?? And how to resolve this matter .

unauthorized charges
I have been scammed by match.com for over 1 year! They have a auto renewel policy that without permission or prior notification can bill my credit card without warning. The customer has to cancel within 3 days for any credit to occur. The problem here is several 1.) my auto insurance policy always provides at least a 3 day notice prior to billing my account so I am aware - - match.com DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY NOTICE so by the time one reviews their statement the 3 days has easily passed and you are forced to keep the subscription for $59.97 for an additional 90 days. 2.) I had SWORN that prior to attending graduate school I had turned off their "auto renewel" option in 11/09. Come to find out almost 1 year later, that I have been billed consecutively throughout the year till 3/11 every 90 days...SOMEHOW, MATCH.COM is easily able to turn-on or the mechanism is so easily triggered the auto-renewel button begins billing again! There is not even a message from match.com that immediately follows saying "Thank you for your subscription". The customer has NO WAY of knowing these billing transactions are occuring!!! Obviously, here is "NO" guarantee for the customer that if your credit card stays on file with them, they will STOP continuously billing you. There is no communication from them regarding renewels, confirmations, notices. YOU must realize problem!!! THIS AUTO-RENEWEL WITHOUT NOTIFICATION/OR PRIOR PERMISSION AND 3-DAY MANDATORY CANCELLATION FOR REFUND IS HOW MATCH.COM IS SCAMMING AND MAKING $$$$$$$ OFF THEIR CUSTOMER'S!!! They hire very sweet, customer focused women (Michele and Theresa) that ease the customer frustrations that are the messengers for these scam artist owner jerks!!! To stay ahead of their game, if you chose to subscribe, make certain they do not keep your credit card on file. Which will involve calling and speaking to a customer representative - not sure if that wil still be sufficent enough...Today, I have contacted my credit card company to fight these bogus, and unethical billing practices!!! I am also going to the BBB.

In this economy, these businesses have become REALLY LOW-DOWN CROOKS! They steal when you are NOT watching! Buyer beware! Check out the founders Gary Kremens match.com perspective on money http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfwIeuT2rOk

Don't Service African American Demographics
Match.com does not offer adequate service for African American matching. Don't waste your money. I called to cancel my 6 month subscription because apparently the site does not service the African American community. I tried the site for 2 months but there were few hits meeting my requirements for an African American match. I called and asked to refund the remaining 4 months because they obviously could not met my need. Instead of crediting my account the remaining 4 months, they insisted that they could not do refunds. Poor customer service. If you can't provide the service, you should be willing to refund the 'unused' portion of the fee. That's all I'm saying.

Fraudulent Practices
As apparently has happened to thousands of other users, Match.com continued to bill my account after I had completed what I thought was the termination process. When I finally reach a billing person by phone, they checked my records and insisted I had sent Emails after I attempted to terminate the service. It turns out that when I responded to a person sending Emails from a talkmatch.com address it was actually going through their service and thus they maintained that I owed for the additional month.

When I asked how I could have know that they owned the talkmatch.com address, the supervisor walked me through a section of Help screen, four levels deep, and there was the information. It was not information an average user would have found on their own (or even know to look for).

From all the other complaints I have found on the web, it is clear that it is their policy to make it as difficult as possible to terminate service -- to the point where it seem there is little doubt that Match.com used fraudulent practices to be able continue to billing as long as possible and bring what I assume is tens of thousands of dollars using the Internet.

charging credit card without permission
I signed up for one month of Match.com dating service and paid the higher rate of $39.99 for one month. I even checked the box do no resubscribe. I emailed them a couple of days before my ending date of 3/14/11 and told them I did not want to sign on again. I got a email dtd. 3/17/11 telling me they were sorry that I was leaving, but still they charged my account. I did not use my CC but my debit card, which caused by account to be overdrawn. I received the $39.99 back but not the overdraft fee of $35.00. I tried to negoiate and ask for 1 month free datomg service, they declined. If there is ever a class action suit please include me!

Cncld Sub.via their site and card still charged
Be aware that the cancellation link inbedded in Match.com's page labeled "cancel/resign subscription" ironically does not always operate. The verbiage goes on to say- "you may continue to use " your subscription until the expiration date. And of course I did, however, it was 3/17/11 and I realized- why is the account still active? Match.com states the responsibility falls to the consumer. So the only way I see the consumer would have control over NOT being automatically charged is to no use the Match.com site. This has happened to me more than once-you'd think I'd learn!

Total fraud and scam
Just my opinion, based on recent experiences, but I joined Match.com about 2.5 months ago (the first time I ever paid for an internet dating service) and I feel very strongly that Match.com is generating its own user profiles to give the appearance that there are many others using their site. You wouldn't believe the number of profiles that match with me that suddenly disappear overnight and then new ones miraculously appear the next day and then vanish again. I e-mailed about 40 different users, simply asking if they'd respond to confirm they're actual people, and 100% of those resulted in either bogus, generic replies, instructing me to reply to them outside of Match.com at another dating website (which I'd have to pay for, naturally) or they'd provide a bizarre e-mail address, probably trying to phish so they can spam me to death.

Not only that, but Match.com's whole site is very poorly designed when you really start trying to use it, and it takes forever to do the simplest things.

IMO, it's nothing but a scam...

Unauthorized charge
Just found a charge for wmv match for 34.99$. Married for 7 years and after dealing with the hassle of canceling my card I now get to try to convince my husband I'm not looking to trade up. Thank you so much for that.
