I signed up for the site and meet this man from Long Island, New York, that posed as an engineer. I would beware of any person, within the United States and United Kingdom. These was differeent because the men shower you with gifts until they get needy and run out of money. The men are usually divorced or widowed like the one I met and always has children usually a daughter in high school. Since I called things off my mail box it filled with different men trying to men me. I contacted the site and they were not very helpful. They did not even remove the user to protect other women. I would stay away from Mate! This also applies to men because their are women doing the same to men.

I am being billed $49.95 a month for services I don't want, when I talked to customer service they say I need a password, which I never had, need to stop being billed!!

I had signed up with the service for a few months and find it to be an absolute ripoff. Only men are required to pay, so females who use the site for free and could care less if they and up meeting someone. Members are also not allowed to exchange contact info, which only complicates the meeting process. There are also paid females, known as "ambassadors", who contact male members under the guise of supposed attraction, to keep male members interested, and paying for this parasitic dating site. My suggestion is to check reviews of different sites, as Mate1 appears to never even get mentioned, and for good reason. It is a ripoff, save your money and avoid the site altogether.
