E-mails after service cancellation
On 11/20/09 I accepted a 3 day trial offer for the Mate1.com dating service. On 11/21/09 (10:56 PM) via E-mail I cancelled this offer. It is Thursday (11/26/09) and I'm still receiving E-mail from this company attempting to lure me into viewing replies knowing if I do this than thay may be able to charge me $49.95 per month for any reply. I no longer want E-mails or any other particpation in this service knowing it is probably going to rip-off myself or any other participant whom chooses to use it. Your assistance and comfirmation to resolve this issue will be deeply appreciated. Sincerely, Bill Kelly.

I am not satisfied with Mate1 Services. I feel it is a RIP-OFF all the girls are looking for a sugar daddy. I'm Not one. Also most of the woman are from Canada. I can't be bothered with that I could not go to Canada I have no VISA. And I don't want them visiting me from Canada when there significant other is away or watching. Please cancel my membership and reverse any costs that I can Recoup to my VISA debit.

Thank You

customer service
Dear mate1.com

I hope someone from your company actually gets forwarded this!

I am writing to complain about your customer service and I assume that the same incompetent people who answer the phones also respond to my emails so this may just get deleted.

Here is my issue.
First of all, getting on your site ages ago was clearly stupid. Had I not filled out some basic info including my email perhaps all of this annoyance could have been avoided. However, I did. As a result, your company has been luring me in with offers of beautiful girls and emails waiting to be read and trial offers.
After enough emails I got curious enough to go look at what you offer (so your harrassment DID work up to this point). I couldn't figure out what the site offered or how the billing worked, all I could see was a trial for $2.
So, I searched the site for a phone number - and nothing. So I did some google searching (the same method used to find this address) and finally found the 1-888 number.
I assumed that calling about how to pay a company is what they want you to do and the REASON they have a customer service line in the first place... perhaps this was another of my mistakes.
The girl who answered "Sabrina" seemed annoyed by my even calling her. I asked about prices and if I could pay in a method other than credit card (bank draft, pay pal). She told me that EVERYONE uses a credit card on the site and that if I wanted to
pay using a different method I would have to "email a special request to the billing office". This is bizarre to me! If I WANT to GIVE YOU MONEY you can't give me payment methods by phone??? You make me jump through hoops??
I asked this "Sabrina" if she could just tell me prices and methods by phone and she seemed to snap. Her voice raised and she told me that she didn't want to repeat herself and that information is only available by email. When I tried to find out why she couldn't just email it to me then, she yelled at me to STOP INTERRUPTING HER BECAUSE SHE IS GOING TO FINISH HER SENTENCES!
I was then told that she had to take other calls from PAYING members! How ironic is that? The phone line is for paying members but someone wanting to join is shit outta luck?

... I hung up.

I am not writing this to get something for free from your site (after this experience I want NOTHING to do with you!).
I am also not trying to get anyone fired. However, I am a business man myself and the experience I had with your customer service has left me so upset I feel MORALLY obligated to let you know.
Do you farm out your customer service calls to children in other countries and angry housewives?? How on earth do you even have a functioning business with income when your staff treats your customers like dirt?
I secretly hope that maybe this was this employees last call before quitting or a once in a lifetime fluke of a rude call.

In conclusion, don't reply to me. I have enough mate1 emails to print out and wallpaper my house with!
And don't fire anyone on my account. Perhaps though, DO train your staff? SCREEN your staff? These people may be contract minimum wage workers but they represent your company!

Sincerely,

Man with Money that could have been yours.

Being billed from this company for no reason.
I signed up a few days ago for the $1.95 trial membership. I decided against the full service and I thought my membership would just expire. Instead they upgraded my membership without my authorization and I just found a $49.95 charge on my bank account. I don't want this service and I want my money back. If I missed something on the fine print that is fine, but I signed up for this just a few days ago and they upgraded my membership today it looks like. I just want my money back and to have nothing to do with the service. I haven't even logged in since the first day I tried it. I did find this on the Q & A part of the site that you don't have to log in for:

"â—¦How do I become a full member?
Any time you try to access a feature that is only accessible to full members, you will be provided an appropriate link to upgrade your membership. You can also click here to become a full member."

In other words it appears they upgraded my account without my authorization instead of letting it expire. I am calling them in the morning and I expect a $49.95 refund.

Mate1.com online dating fraud
Mate1.com is the worst kind of fraud. I am a single guy, I own two international businesses and I am a savvy web professionals. I have tried several online dating services and Mate1.com is the most blatant dating fraud I've come across. The MINUTE I registered, I received emails from two attractive young women, stating: "I would like to correspond with you. Please check out my profile and let me know if you are interested." The interesting thing is I hadn't even filled out my profile or added a photo at that time, so they could hardly have been able to say they liked it.

I found this suspicious and did some research online. I discovered scores of detailed complaints and scam alerts. Mate1 apparently hires "online ambassadors" to write to new members, pretending they want to correspond. They entice you to join up and then -- of course -- you never hear from them again. Luckily, I only did the thee-day trial for $1.95 and then canceled after reading so many complaints online. Of course, right after I canceled my membership, I received another email from an attractive woman in Thailand with EXACTLY the same message: "I would like to correspond with you. Please check out my profile and let me know if you are interested."

Do NOT join this service. It is a rip off and a major scam. I hope Mate1 gets investigated by the authorities for fraud. And Fling.com is almost as bad. Many of the profiles on that site are fake.

If you want to try a good online dating service, use Match.com or OkCupid.com. Match is a pay service featuring real profiles; Cupid is free and great fun.
