Failure to deliver
Mathis Bros is the worst furniture buying experience I have ever had. A bedroom set that was ordered and paid for was never actually ever made. Delivery dates came and went. The store continued to pretend the furniture was coming when they knew it was never made (final confession by the sales person when I canceled my order). That confession also revealed a well known issue with the furniture maker regarding their lack of response to orders. It was totally dishonest of them to knowingly promise me delivery of furniture without disclosing the possible delay in delivery, and completely dishonest of them to give me a 2nd delivery date that said I would have my furniture when they knew all along that the furniture was not being delivered. Weeks and months were wasted in dealing with this company, something that will never happen again with me. I urge anyone reading this to run as fast as you can away from Mathis Bros. You'll be grateful you did.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
My Husband and I were moving into a new home and decided to buy alomst an entire housefull of furniture. We went to Mathis Brothers and while shopping for new mattress encountered a salesman by the name of TY. Ty was very nice and assured us that they were happy to have our business and that if we were not happy they would do everything that they could to make us happy. We decided to buy a Tempur-Pedic mattress for our new bed (we had previously bought a "knock off" tempur-pedic and we were not happy with it because it retains heat at night. Ty assured us that the difference between the Tempur-Pedic and the "knock off" was that it would NOT retain the heat. We bought a Master Bedroom set, Tempur-Pedic mattress, Bunk-Beds with underbed storage, Entertainment Center console and hutch, Sofa and Loveseat, End tables, Dining table and chairs, Two barstools and a rug. We bought over $12, 000.o0 in new furniture in one stop. This is not including the other 3-5 thousand in the last five years. We had a few minor problems along the way that we had to say on Mathis Brothers to take care of but were resolved. However, the major problems that I can't overlook they will do NOTHING about!!! The rug we bought for our living room fell apart in days. It was a total mess, our crawling baby could not come up off the floor without looking like a dust bunny. It ruined my Dyson vacuum. Burnt it up!!! $400.00 vaccume ruined by a $3oo.00 rug. When we called we were direced to the manager of the rug gallery and she told us the rug was not a good one and that they wouldn't even be keeping it in stock because of the problems they had with it. She said that we would be taken care of it and that they would replace or fix the vacuum and if not she herself would relace it. A few days later (after no return phone calls) I called them back. They would only take the rug back and we needed to spend more money for a better rug. That was it!!! They wanted more money and forget about the Dyson, It was a lost cause to get it replced or fixed. Now it is three months later and the HIGH DOLLAR mattress that TY assured us would NOT get hot at night...It gets hot. We are reasonable people so we cracked the window. It is Oklahoma so it is cold outside...It FROZE our bed!!! I am not kidding! A king size brick!!! Its took 8 hours of heat to get our mattress sleepable again. I called Tempur-Pedic and told them of our problem and they are well aware of the problems. "It is extremely tempature sensetive, the salesman should have never told you it wouldn't get hot". I guess even Tempur-Pedic gets hot and is known for absorbing and reatining heat or cold for that matter. She said we need to call the store and talk to them. We call and talked to TY and he tells is that it shouldn't get hot and that it would be a warranty issue to take up with Tempur-Pedic. We talk to the sales manager and they tell us that there is NOTHING they can do. I am very upset with the customer service we have recieved. The salesmen talk up the customer service and promise things they can't or won't deliver. When you have a problem talking to a manager is like talking to a brick wall. They got your business and they won't do what it takes to keep a customer. It is like buying your car at a buy here pay here lot. Mathis Brothers is nothing but a facade. Don't waste a dollar in that store let alone $15 GRAND!!!

Return Policy sucks
About five weeks ago, I went to the store to buy a coffee table, end table, and entertainment unit that matched. Because all of the items were not on the floor and available, I had to order them. What I found out today--because it was a special order, all sales are final no matter what. Even if they do not match in color tone, I have to take delivery. Also, if I had taken the end table and coffee table from the floor stock and wanted to return them because the entertainment unit was not available, there is a 10% restocking fee that is not told up front.
Be very wary of the policy to order the furniture instead of waiting for it to be on the floor and available for inspection. Go to the the customer service area to look at the return policy before looking at any product in the store.

bedroom furniture
I purchased two twin beds from mathis bros. When the delivery men arrived, they place the beds in the room, they were very rude and did not even attach the headboard to the frame. Also at the end of the bed are sharp edges and my children have scratched and bruised themselves numerous of time and I have also brused my let on the sharp metal edges. It is so terrible

Stay away from them
I just recently bought a dining set and then an office set. The salesman was incredible! He had a tape measure and helped me and my husband decide on the perfect pieces. Most importantly, he listened to our needs and was patient. We were in the store for almost 3 hours picking the perfect items. The delivery date was set for a Saturday so that we would be available.

The movers were wonderful as well. They were very careful and respectful of our house when moving the furniture around. Quickly though, we realized that the credenza was defective. One of the drawers was badly cracked, rendering it useless, and the side had a large crack.

I immediately called the store and was told that a replacement would arrive on Wednesday. I explained that I work and that no one would be at my home until after 3pm. They told me that they could not pinpoint a delivery time and that it could be any time between 10am and 5pm. I was forced to have to take a day of leave in order to wait. The movers showed up at 4pm. The new credenza was worse than the first. Me and my husband returned to Mathis Brothers to personally hand select a new credenza to be delivered. The man working the Customer Service area, Jarred Phillips, was rude and refused to look or talk to me when I was speaking. He directed all conversation at my husband. Further more he had the warehouse guys pull down the wrong credenza to be inspected. We waited in the store for almost two hours. I finally went back to tell Jarred that we were leaving and to just have a Quality Control person inspect the desk before delivery and he told me that wasn't possible. By the way, the people lined up in there with complaints was growing by the minute. There were some very unhappy people. I inquired as to a delivery time and AGAIN was told anytime between 10am and 5pm. I explained that I couldn't take another day off of work and asked if they could arrange the delivery for after 3pm. He say no and then rolled his eyes. I was furious.

Again, I took another day off of work to wait for the desk. No furniture ever arrived and no courtesy call to let me know this either. I called the Tulsa store to complain and they said that the delivery had been rescheduled for Friday and that again, I would need to wait. I then decided to contact the OKC store. I talked to Lee, a man who evidently does not know how to talk to people. He did nothing but tell me to just wait till the next day. He refused to let me talk to a supervisor.

When...if they come tomorrow they can pick up all of the furniture and refund my money. I will never step foot in Mathis Brothers again.
