Unauthorized charges
I used Matrimovie to film my wedding back in 2002. While doing some cleaning I came across the invoice and some emails related to Matrimove and decided I should share my experience so that other brides do not fall into this trap. Matrimove at the time was located in Schaumburg IL, and was referred to me by a friend who either knew the owner David from school or work. This friend also referred Matrimovie to a few other friends who were all getting married within a 2 year span. All of them were un happy and all shared similar stories of how rude and unprofessional David was. Before the wedding he was great, and on the wedding day he was fine.
After the wedding I didnt hear from him, for months. When I contacted him, I was told I had to pay an Archiving fee of $250 because it had be over 60 days. Well lets not forget that after weddings people take honeymoons, and move into new homes, etc. David made no attempt to contact me with a warning before the 60 days. I did not complain about this, I just moved forward with trying to get my DVD completed. Then there were a series of conversations and email communications about when the DVD would be complete.
I was promised a certain day, and when I contacted David to ask about this he was very rude and defensive on why he couldn't get it done. David also liked to talk and complain about the other couples that he was working on Wedding DVD's for, assuming that I would relay messages to them since we were all referred to him by the same friend, but they were only acquaintances of mine. The way he talked about these other customers was very unprofessional, and included referring to them with inappropriate names and language. I have copies of emails from David where he pretended to be his secretary, referring to himself in the 3rd person, but never signing a name at the bottom as his secretary normally would. It is so obvious just by the writing style and rude language that he wrote these, and was hiding behind email to not have to deal with me in person.
I really hope any couples out there planning a wedding will do enough research before choosing this company. Dave is the biggest Jerk I have ever dealt with as far as customer service goes. As for his quality of film work, there was nothing great about my dvd, and nothing horrible about it. It was an average movie that anyone could have provided me. He and the friend who referred him talked so much about his 'great' film work, I have no idea what they were talking about.
