This is a typical scam being played on unsuspecting people who fall for the 'endorsements' attached to the products as being valid. It offered a "FREE 14-day Trial Offer"...you only pay 5.95 S&H...but, what happens next is the scamline. It does not tell you on the promo page that you will AUTOMATICALLY be billed 89.95 per month which kicks in even before the 14-days are up.
I found out in time by going to snopes.com and simply Googling the name - max colon. A long list of complaints popped up, which necessitaterd me calling immediately to cancel the offer.
What happened next was a mini-nightmare. I spoke to a "representative" (which I discovered later to be a customer service rep in a CALL CENTER...she promised to cancel the order and notate it on my order, and was told ot go online to ww.maxcolon.com and put in a cancellation. However, that link did not even exist! And, she never did!
A few days later, I recieved the package. I promptly called and was given an RMA number to return it and did so.
A week later, I checked my bank account and saw a PENDING next to MaxColon for 89.95!
I immediately notified my bank to cancel my charge card, however it was in a pending stage and I would have to wait until it cleared...then I could file a Fraud Claim against them...which I did!
I tried contacting th company but still got the Call Center order takers. After several threatening emails ( I found their 'customer service' email address, I receieved a cancellation notice, but I don't trust them!
I have filed the Fraud claim and am awaiting the deposit into my account.
Lesson learned: There is no such thing as a 'FREE' offer. Since then, I have come across other 'free offers' and promptly researched the small print...buyer beware...there is a pandemic out there among scammers!
