failure to perform
This company has given extremely poor service related to arranging for the repair of my fridge. 24 hrs after i filed a claim, I still didnt get a call from the repair shop, after my third call to them the repair shop called and said i would be charged $200 plus parts and labor because i didnt buy the appliance from them! Why did they hook me up with these people? It seems that the way they operate is to frustrate you to the point where you will give up and pay for the repair yourself!

Horrible customer service
Three years ago we replaced all large appliances in our home. As added protection, we bought extended warranty from Maytag called Maytag dependability Plus. Last month the heating coil of our dryer (Fisher and Paykel) stopped working (alas no more drying of clothes). We submitted a claim with the company that was promptly forwarded to one of their contractors. the contractor came an confirmed that the heating is not working and ordered the parts. Unfortunately, no spare parts are available for that dryer not is there an ETA on when a part will become available. So, after waiting over 30 days and using our neighbor's dryer twice a week (we are a family of four and even though we stopped washing sheets and towels, we still have our daily clothes to wash), asked the company to replace the dryer itself and it did not seem a part was in sight. The company refused and said they will not/cannot do anything about it until after 60 days. Now how long can a family with your kids go without washing clothes or how long can we continue to use a good neighbor's electricity. We asked the company to pick up the tab for using a laundromat.. they refused that as well.

I spoke to several people within Maytag dependability plus (customer rep, team lead and finally their customer relations supervisor) and other than giving me a run around and putting me on hold for several hours, I got no help nor support for our broken dryer. All we were told is you need to wait 60 days for a part to become available and if it still does not happen, then we can look into alternate solutions. So urge all consumers out there to not buy Fisher and Paykel appliances (as it seems they do not produce sufficient parts) nor buy Maytag Dependibility Plus for your critical appliance warrantee as their service and response is horrible.

Appliance Warranty
We purchased a JennAir Electric Slide In Range in July 2006. Triple burner broke August 2007; repaired after 6 weeks of trying to get a part that was not shattered. Oven control panel stopped working February 2008; repaired. Oven control panel stopped working for a second time last week (November 2008). Service call placed and the parts department tells us that there is a "National Backorder" on this part. After spending the day on the phone with JennAir, Maytag, Maytag Dependability Plus and various parts companies, I figured it all out. This is a scam.

Maytag Dependability Plus will repair your appliance. If the same part breaks 4 times, you get a new appliance. Well this only counts if the part breaks 4 times during the time frame of the warranty contract. If you renew your contract, you start all over again with service calls. So the National Backorder is a way for them to stall so that your warranty terms expire and you won't have the opportunity to claim the "lemon" status.

Don't bother with the extended warranty. It's not worth it. I am going to have to purchase this part on my own and have it installed unless I want to wait two months.

Service of washer
In 2005 I purchase a Maytag front-loader washer and dryer. I recently had to contact Maytag because my washer starting smelling of burnt rubber and smoking. After much confusion of their end they finally located me and my appliances and sent a repairman out. It turns out the model I purchased has since been discontinued my Maytag due to the fact it moves too much. This will explain why I need a new drum, pump, etc..for a total of $850.00 in repairs so far. Needless to say I have been without my washer for two weeks now and will have to wait a minimum of one more week as a part is backordered. According to Maytag Dependability Plus this is the process. As long as the parts are still being made you must wait...go to the laundromat...and be inconvenienced by all of this. I inquired to them that another $350 in repairs and they will have put out as much as I paid for the washer. They said that was fine. They will continue to repair it for the next three years while under warranty. I am not happy as I feel this model was discontinued because of problems and now it has become my problem. After 3 years I will have to pay for the repairs. I have also contacted Maytag themselves and they will do nothing. I will never purchase another Maytag appliance and definetly not get the extended coverage.

service
This company is a joke. Do not buy shit from this company or you WILL be throwing your money away. You will be switched between 3 different company's and you will never get an answer, the parts or any repair. My next call will be to Maytag to ask why such a shit company is being allowed to use their name. We have waited 5 months with no results except a run around from hell !!! I will not allow this to continue. I plan to hire a lawyer and sue these bastards for my money back, the time I have wasted dealing with them and everything else I can get to put their asses out of business !!! Stay away from this company !!!

Extended warranty rip off!
I purchased my Maytag dishwasher a couple of years ago. The first time I had a repairman out for service, I purchased an extended warranty from him. All that I received was a credit card receipt and a Certificate Number to show that I had coverage. I never received any contract in the mail and was told to set up service, I could schedule online - which I have been doing. I recently made an appointment online for a technician to come out, and when he did, he confirmed what I explained what was the problem, and then told me that I must pay him $65 for the service call. He said that I had no coverage and after an hour and a half on the phone with Maytag Dependability Plus customer service - I ended up paying him more than I paid for the extended warranty. They suddenly changed the rules and stated that I must call them first and get a claim number and let them schedule the service call or they would not pay. They also informed me that they do not cover all parts and service under their warranty and that they would not order my part. You see, my middle rack broke, and the technician said that in order to fix it, he would have to order a completely new rack - which Maytag claims they will not cover. He informed me that it would involve more than just sliding out the old rack and replacing with the new. After speaking with a supervisor for some time, she finally agreed to order the part and ship it to me, but said that they would not send a technician out to replace the rack and that I would have to do it myself.

How can they not send you any documentation and then change the rules as they go along. Seems to me after seeing all of the complaints against them, that someone would see this and start a class action lawsuit against Maytag for deceptive practices. I can't believe this because I have always heard that Maytag has the best appliances and the best service. What a rip off.

Nightmare!
What a nightmare - Maytag Dependability Plus is a ripoff. We have a high end commercial grade range made by Dynasty. After 6 years of paying Maytag Dependability Plus for a service contract the oven burners went out. It took 3 weeks to get the parts, the technician came out and Maytag refused to authorize the repair. $500 repair on a $6,000 range. They said the value of the range was $200. Yesterday representative Jenny said that it was their mistake and it would be fixed immediately. Today representative Ashley said that I had to PROVE the value of the range and implied that I had falsified the value of the range. I informed her that Maytag owned Dynasty at the time I bought the range and I just got a card from MAytag in the mail to enroll in the coverage and paid it. Asked for a supervisor - was told one was not available - said I would continue holding - she hung up on me after lecturing me that Maytag Dependability Plus is not Maytag (regardless of the Maytag logo in their website).

This is an evil company. I am going to call Maytag Corp and register a complaint - maybe they will understand that this company is giving Maytag a bad name.

Poor non responsive service
This is the second time I've used my extended warrenty on my 2 &1/2 year old dishwasher maytag model MDB9600AWB. The first time I called Maytag Dependability Plus they said I should here from the repair Co. in 3 business days. Not hearing anything I called them again. I found out they sent the order to to a Company that had closed due to the death of the owner ( a very long distance call). They contacted another repair companey but again I had to wait 3 days before I heard from them.

This time I called & was told I would hear from the repair Co. in 3 days. Not hearing I called the repair Co. who had not recieved the order. Called M.D.P. again they had the wrong puchase $112 not the $650 I paid. I had to fax the sales contract before the would act. They recieved the fax & I was told it would take another 2-3 days to process. Here I sit with a broken 2 year old appliance awaiting repair.

How do these people stay in business, worst customer service as far as repairs, I have dealt with in my life. One day they didn't even show-up, and didn't bother to call!

Not living up to contract
Called in Juli about a broken dishwasher, had to wait 3 weeks for service. Technisian came 3 hours late, I lost 7 hours of work. He said the damage was not covered and wanted me to buy parts. I refused. he called company and suddenly it was covered. He did not have parts and rescheduled for 2 weeks later. The day of no one showed up, another loss of work 4 hours. I called the service company and the said he was sick they said the called the house and they did not. I'd like to cancel the service, it's useless!!!
