Clothe dryer
Just over four years ago we purchased a Maytag clothe dryer from Home Depot. Since then we had the Maytag repairman in to fix the dryer at a cost of $84. How can governments allow garbage like this to be sold in Canada or the U.S.? I will never by any Maytag product again.
Also, the service at every Home Depot I have visited is abysmal.

Scam and cheating
I have a Maytag Gas Range Model # MGRH752BDG. Code 27450 It is nearly impossible to keep clean. SOS pads are necessary to scrub the top and burner service. It needs cast iron grates. I have tried to purchase these but they are not available. Design is very poor.

Bad service
Dear ABC, I am hoping you can help me with a problem. My Maytag Frontloading washer was purchased in Feb of 2006, broke down Oct. 13th 2007 (for the 2nd time) while I was washing a load of clothes. I called the maytag repair man who came out on Oct. 29th. My clothes at this point had been stuck in the washer for 2 weeks. He tells me he has to order parts and they won't be in till Nov. 30th, because they are on national back order. He also can't get the door open, it's broken locked shut with my clothes inside.
I have been going to the laundry mat for 6 weeks, and I had to purchase new clothes.
I have e-mailed and spoken to maytag several times, they are always sorry but have no answers!
We paid 1200.00 for this washing machine that is clearly a lemon. (I told them I had a Sears Kenmore that lasted 14 years without a problem) This is the 2nd break down. They sent us a recall part because they were causing fires, and now I can't get the parts to get the washer fixed. NATIONAL BACKORDER!!! because everyone washer is probably having the same problem!
I started calling them on Dec 1st 07, because the part is not here, and they treated me with sarcasm saying why did I wait so long to call, I said "because you said the part woudn't be here till Nov 30th and its still not here! I demanded a new washer, because this one is clearly never getting fixed! They said NO. I got sarcastic and asked if they are going to replace my clothes that have been sitting rotting in my washer for 7 weeks, they said, NO call your homeowners insurance!
I have been patiently waiting for this part, but the waiting is over! I need help! I don't know what you can do for me, but anything is appreciated. I think a $1, 200 washing machine should last longer than 1 year 8mo. and breaking down 2 times! All I want for Christmas is a working washing machine!

Terrible quality products
Maytag washer, model# SAV515DAWW crapped out on me after just 4 years, paying $500, less a $30 scratch fee. After checking out this washer online, i found out that many people had the same problem with the boot having to be replaced. We had waived our warranty because of the scratch but others had tried to get theirs repaired by repairmen only to get the run around by Maytag. Since, i found out that Maytag is now Whirlpool, so, BUYER BEWARE.
Years ago i was given a Kenmore apt sized washer that hooks up to a faucet, and it was about 20 years old already. Not having a washer i was happy to snap it up. After 9 years my husband replaced the pump and we finally got a full sized washer from a job site he was working at and customer bought a new one... had that one for 4 years, go figure, pay full price and get less out of a new product, Maytag repairmen must be on vacation!! Now i found out my dryer needs a new ignition. My luck. I am off now to post a complaint about Perfect Flame Split Lid Grill. Good luck ya all!!

Bad service
I have the MDB7600AWS model dishwasher that I purchased in 2005. The door handle feels broken but we adapted by squeezing the handle tighter and pulling. It works but it is not right. Our biggest problem is with the wheels on the upper rack; specifically, the plastic retainer shaft holding the wheels on. The plastic this retainer is made from becomes brittle and breaks. Over time, this plastic literally crumbles in your fingers. The metal screw that attaches the shaft to the height adjuster gets swallowed up by the pump. I hate to imagine what damage is being done. Maytag has changed the design but won't admit to the fault. The design has changed to use metal shafts rivetted to the rack height adjuster. Now you have to buy the whole adjuster at $35.00 each for left and right. That's a total of $70.00 CDN before taxes. Maytag should recall these racks and be supplying these parts free. I expect there will be a series pump (grinder) failures in the future. I called Maytag but they just say the warranty is expired. The problem started eight months after I purchased the dishwasher. I ran out of replacement parts that the retailer supplied me and of course the warranty is now expired. The Maytag website is useless because it only refers to the toll free number as a contact and these people won't help.

Poorly manufactured
Would never buy this product EVER AGAIN!!
We purchased our Maytag Neptune Washer 9700 model and Dryer and have had nothing but problems with it. Only 6 months after purchase we noticed the clothes with a moldy odor. We called for service. The repairman came out and blamed it on the types of detergent used (Tide and Wisk/Downey) and told us that the most he could do was recommend that we wash the inside of the washing machine. Hah! What a hoot! For some reason I thought I had bought the washer to wash our clothes, not for me to wash a washer...anyhow...the clothes also come out so twisted and wrinkled that the wrinkles do not even come out in the dryer, and are so entwined in the dryer that they come out in a ball with the middle of the ball of clothes still being wet. This washer and dryer are the WORST product we have EVER owned and cannot say enough to keep someone else from having the same disappointment and disgust. The representatives at Maytag were less than helpful and uninterested in our disappointment (even though the product was only 6 months old)and sent us a small packet (2x3)of detergent/cleaner that we could use for our trouble of mold odor, when really the problem is that the water does not drain out completely when a load is finished, it sits under the door frame where Maytag claims, there is a hole now, to help the water drain. (According to some investigation on our behalf, we've now learned that this was a problem when the machines were first introduced, and only fixed after a class action lawsuit was filed) This hole is useless, and the water still sits in the washer until the next load washes. In other words, poorly manufactured, and no one at maytag seems to care that the problem still exists.

Bad product
I own a set of Maytag Washer and Dryer for just turning 3 year-old. The drum of dryer was cracked! I called May tag service reps and they offer nothing toward replacement of a new drum. I believe it is a major defected. It costs $260.00 for the part; labor and diagnose estimated $400. My trusted repairman recommended to replace with a whole new brand altogether. He said he is not worth fixing with this much cost. It is not only a cheap quality products but also the service people are unprofessional and helpless. It is just too bad. While researching and writing this review, I found out how bad they stand behind their products. It is going down the hill for sure!

Extreme dissatisfaction
I would like to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the Maytag
service group. I scheduled service on my Maytag wash machine last week.
Service was expected today between 8AM-12PM. Now is 3:30PM... up to this time, no one show up!
Because I cannot took the day off from work, I left an adult person to be at my house waiting for this service. But this person who makes me a big favor, was wasting his time, his energy and missing work.
Why? I was told by the service company, A&E Factory Service, the serviceman would call when on their way to my home. We did not receive no such call by now (3:30 PM.)
Notes: I called A & E customer services: (800) 905-9505 @ 11:30AM, @ 1:00 PM and @ 3:00 PM to see what was the status of service.
They replied that the technician serviceman scheduled was finishing a call (@Howard Beach), very close to my area and I will be next; they assure me that he will be over shortly. But the last representative (phone call 3PM) said that the technician serviceman scheduled was finishing a call, have to go TO ANOTHER CALL SERVCIE and then, will be in my house .. I did not understand! Why they accomodate another new customer before me? ... Make no sense!. I start having bad feelings and I felt suspicious.. Which customer representative was giving me the right information?
I asked to speak with a Supervisor. Jennifer picked up (with no last name because she said that for security reason she is the supervisor but is not allowed to give her last name <?>) Her attitude and the tone she used to explain the delay of the serviceman was terrible!!! She NOT ONLY doesnt care about the hours we was waiting for the service, instead, she asked me if I want to reschedule. And (heard that: she informed to me that the serviceman went now to purchase supplies at Woodhaven area and to continue later with the Howard Beach appointment; When finish, he has another client to go (call #5) and then, will be my turn!!!(Now I was not the NEXT customer as previously mentioned to me; Now I was the call #6, period!). AND also, she confirmed that the technician will be working UP TO 5PM... If he couldn't make it today probably I must have to reschedule.
This company doesnt care if we (as a customers) loss salaries or waste our time...
Ah! ALSO she said that this serviceman IS THE ONLY ONE they have to provide services in our town!!! Can you believe???? What happened if the man get sick??? They have Only ONE TECHNICIAN...No substitutes!!! Unbelieve!!!
This type of unprofessional and unexpected answers infuriates me! Even when not able to meet their commitment, A&E offered no apologies.
NOTE: Be sure if you need their services in the future, to be patient, do not make any other plans for the day of the appointment and... don't get upset with the situation (as I did it). There is NO SOLUTIONS available...

APPOINTMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
I BOUGHT A MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR 4 YEARS AGO FROM SEARS. RECENTLY THE WATER.ICE MAKER STOPPED WORKING. I WENT ONLINE AND PAID 65.00 DOLLARS IN ADVANCE TO HAVE A SERVICE MAN COME TO THE HOUSE TO MAKE THE NEEDED REPAIRS. THE FIRST APPOINTMENT WAS SET FOR THUR 7/10/08 THE REPAIR MAN NEVER SHOWED UP, HE CLAIMS NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE, THE MAID WAS IN THE HOUSE UNTIL 5PM WAITING THE WHOLE TIME. I RESET THE APPOINTMENT FOR TUESDAY 7/15/08 THEY TELL ME BETWEEN 8AM-5PM. I CALLED THE MAID AT 5PM AND ASK IF THE MAYTAG REPAIR MAN WAS THERE, SHE ADVISED NO. AT 5:39PM I GET A CALL ADVISING THE REPAIR MAN WAS THERE BUT NO ONE WAS HOME. MY WIFE WAS ON THE PHONE CALLING ME TELLING ME SHE WAS OUTSIDE ON THE FRONT PORCH WITH MY DAUGHTER WATCHING THE MAYTAG REPAIR MAN DRIVE AWAY. THIS AGAIN WAS 5:39PM AS DOCUMENTED ON THE PHONE. THE REPAIR MAN LITERLY RAN BACK TO HIS VAN AND DEPARTED AS MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER STOOD WATCHING. I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK AND TOLD THE COSTOMER SERVICE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. I WAS ON HOLD FOR OVER 45 MINUTES. I INTENTIONALY WAITED TO SEE IF ANYONE WOULD PICK UP. FINALLY THE PHONE WAS DISCONECTED. THE MUSIC WHILE ON HOLD WAS TERRIBLE. BOTTOM LINE IS, THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. DON'T EXPECT THEM TO BE ON TIME, THE CALL SERVICE PEOPLE PUT ME ON HOLD AND NEVER DID GET BACK ON THE LINE, THERE IS NO RESOLUTION OFFERED BY MANAGEMENT FOR THE 2 DAYS I HAD THE MAID STAY PAST HER NORMAL 2PM WORK SCEDULE, A SIMPLE I AM SORRY AND LET ME RESCEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT IS ALL I GOT FROM MANAGER AFTER WAITING ON THE PHONE FOR ANOTHER 40 MINUTES. I HAVE PHONE RECORDS THAT SUPPORT THIS WHOLE CLAIM. THE SERVICE IS ROTTEN.

Broken Refrigerator
Refrigerator broke two weeks ago; five years old;repaired by non-Maytag rep due to long wait, to be reimbursed; two weeks later broke again, different problem; repair to take one month...Are you kidding me? A month without a fridge? Obviously there are parts and service people closeby that can repair, replace or fix this problem.
Does Maytag want me to go away and quit asking for service? Do not buy Maytag or anything affiliated with Maytag...Do not buy an extended warranty..obviously they are worthless...
