Poor quality!
I recently (2 years) replaced my Maytag washer after 22 years of usage. I bought a new Maytag washer at Home Depot. All of a sudden it started making a loud knocking noise. After calling the repair man and he not even needing to look under it practically told me the transmission was out. Several other parts will have to be replaced also in the tune of over $200.00. I also found out that it really isn't even a Maytag washer, just bears the name. I believe it was a Amana which Maytag just bought out and has since been bought by Whirlpool. Wow, we all might need to check to see what product we are really buying these days.

Poor quality product!
I bought the new Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot 1 year ago. I bought the warranty thank God! I have problems with my ice maker also, it makes alot of noise and a "rattle" I had them come out and the repair man said it was the condensation line that was hitting the back side of the refrigerator, he fixed it or so he said, it continues to make the noise. A $2400.oo nightmare! Still trying to get Maytag to fix it right.

Not honoring class action settlement!
Please do not buy a Neptune or any other Maytag branded appliance. My frontloader machine was part of the class action settlement back in 2004 and we never received notice of it and therefore could not receive compensation. The Neptune settlement hotline: 1 866 739 1038 was not helpful and claim that I probably received the form in the mail and did not know what it is. So, not only did I not receive the form, they insult my intelligence by saying I received it and did not know what it was.
All they need to do was replace a rubber seal to get rid of the mildew problem and yet they can't do that at their expense. Needless to say, I am never buying a Maytag again and urge everyone else to do the same. Let's rise up against these terrible corporations!

Don't make the same mistake as I did!
You have got to be kidding. We bought our MAYTAG appliances, washer and dryer from Home Depot. Yeah, we spent a little bit more but hey, nothing like peace of mind. WRONG!! Delivery was 2.5 months late. We had just had a baby so it was really nice to hand wash out close and dry them hanging around the house.
Because it took them so long to delivery we sent in our $50 rebate a little later than anticipated. WRONG again, we were refused as they received the paperwork after the deadline date. Eh. Nice. But it was their fault and we even wrote them a letter and mailed in with the rebates. No luck. The letter was still folded, almost as if no one had read it.
8 months down the road, I noticed that our dryer was out of wrack, making these weird noises and a rolling sound. Almost like there was a rock rolling around when the dryer was working. Yep, someone came by. "The motor needs to be replaced" he said. What? It's only 8 months old.
Please, don't make the same mistake I did, please do not buy Maytag - no peace of mind there!

Rebates refused!
I remodeled 3 Luxury Condos and spent over $40,000 at Home Depot... I purchased 10 applianced with UPGRADES... This was to entitle me to $775 of instore rebates! Well. they sent my $125 and five emails to supervisors at the Rebate Center did no good... The HD salesman had the internal memo describing the rebate program so he called a "Special Agent of Rebates" and confirmed the $775 in rebates and promised them in three weeks! He said "TO DESTROY THE OLD CARDS WORTH $125 AND HE WOULD SEND ME THE $775 CARD. Well, two months later I received a card for $500 with no explanation and I am short $275! This has been TWELVE MONTHS SINCE MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE... Home Depot plays the " stonewall game" and nothing happens... They have rally Screwed me... The Local Store Manager has told me at least five times he will solve... nothing happens! He even said he would give me credit on merchandise if I did not get the cards but nothing happens... This Company has messed up everything I have ever done with them from carpet to cabinets to delivery... They delivered 12 heavy packets of 16" tile broken... said they had to leave them! 5 months later I had to pack them up and take them in to get the credit...

Poor service!
Add me to the list of frustrated Maytag owners. Tomorrow will be FOUR weeks since I received the recall notice and immediately contacted the company. Like others I was told that I would receive the replacement parts in about a week.
Last week I phoned Maytag again and they couldn't even tell me whether the parts had been sent. I also e-mailed and have not received any reply. Yes, my dishwasher is 7 years old, but it was working perfectly and $75 toward another (which must be from the same company) is ridiculous.
I'm another who will never buy another Maytag appliance.
Ann.

Inability to get anyone to answer the phone to hear my needs
90 minutes today on hold....35 yesterday. no answer at all from the number given me for my extended warranty claim. when I called my dealer back to make sure I was doing the right thing I was reassured that not only was I dialing and asserting correctly but that there was no other recourse for me in my pursuits except to keep calling and stay on hold.
My cordless phone literally lost its charge while I was on hold. the extended warranty company is called dependability plus. Wrong name: for sure!

Don't buy the extended warranty from Maytag!
They take their time to fix the appliances and don't come. I am still waiting for my washer to get fix and it will take 8 weeks to get the washer fix assuming they do come and have the parts.
My washer is leaking and it took 3 weeks for someone to come out. When the technician did come, he said the last technician forgot to secure the motor with a latch. (That means I had a unsecured motor for a year.) It will take 2 more weeks for someone to come to secure it so a total of 5 weeks of waiting. That day, no one came.
But to top it off, I called and asked the status and ALL FIVE REPRESENTATIVES said he was scheduled to come... they lied. The last rep even said he would come even after 5pm... so I waited.
Finally, I called again and the rep said that the technician wasn't able to come.. gee it was already 5:30 after the scheduled time. The technician should of called me or the 5 REPRESENTATIVE should of told me instead of me waiting. It will take another 2 weeks for someone to come out.
I called this week to confirm someone would come out and... they don't have me scheduled... so I can schedule another appt it and it will take another 2 weeks. That is 8 weeks, 2 months till the washer gets fixed assuming the technician comes and the last technician diagnosis it properly.

Maytag has declined to honor it's warranty
My complaint is that Maytag has declined to honor it's warranty on a dryer purchased in January of 2006 and subsequently failed in September of 2006. Their position is that because my organization purchased it for use in a residential facility it is a commercial use voiding the warranty. The extent of repair was tightening a connection on a control board and cost $132.00.
I am paying the invoice to the repairer because, to be fair, he did the work and should be paid. Should I have to incur the expense on a nine month old dryer purchased on the notion Maytag was a quality product that represented a value to my organization? How can Maytag determine the dryer is used commercially because a non profit organization made the purchase?
Quite honestly I have used these products at other locations based on cost and brand. I have had transmissions, timers and thermal cut offs fail under warranty and repair was made in a reasonable time and were covered. Other than the inconvenience I didn't think much of it. In retrospect the products did fail, within warranty, at a rather high percentage of units purchased. Had I not encountered this issue on the most recent occurrence, I most likely would not have had cause to reach this conclusion nor would it have become a consideration in my next purchase.
I have a large family by today's standards and we do allot of laundry. My wife chose our washer and dryer and they haven't had a problem in almost 6 years, they aren't Maytag. Maybe I'll have her assist in my next purchase. Now watch I'll go home and the washer won't work.

Burnt out motor
I have a Admiral...from the division of Maytag...with a burnt out motor. Machine is barley two years old...has been treated very well...not overloaded...and now the motor is burnt up. Since it is out of warranty...the cost to fix it will be the same as buying a new one. No williness from Maytag to give me even a discount on a new motor. Thanks alot Maytag...no wonder the Maytag repairman has nothing to do...its cheaper to buy another appliance than fix current one.
