Worthless Maytag
I have The Maytag Quiet Series 300, and it is the absolute worse dishwasher I have ever seen. The control panel went out just after the warranty expired, I called the company, requesting they send me a replacement part, they refused however they offered a 10% off coupon for another Maytag appliance. 10% off another piece of crap, I'll pass. My family and I have decided to never purchase Maytag again, or any affiliate of Maytag.

ice maker wont work
have had refrigerator for about six months the ice make hasnever worked right they have been out several times but have never fixed it.we have talked to a manager but still this has not been taken care of so we refuse to make payments until this is solved if they cant fix it replace it with a new one and we will pay.we have purchased several thing from them in the past and paid them off early. have had no other problems we just got a lemon on this one please make good on it.thank you

Terrible service
Maytag works with a third party vendor A&E to repair their refrigerators - no such thing as the "maytag man". No this company doesn't tell you items have been recalled then try to charge you for the parts and then don't order parts to fix the problem and then don't show up for appointments thereby the consumer loses many days from work with a still defective product that they have no interest in repairing even though the ads mislead the public. I am VERY mad and will NEVER EVER buy a maytag product - I expected a lot more. My Refrigerator is still not fixed and I have no idea when it ever will be.

MAYTAG AKA WHIRLPOOL WASHER
I purchased a supposedly brand new Maytag washer aka Whirlpool and Maytag dryer from Home Depot on the 6000 Carlisle Pike, in Mechanicsburg, PA. Store #4120. After it was installed I went on vacation and when I returned went to use the wash machine and it made a terrible noise in the spin cycle.. All it did was bang and clunk when it went into the spin cycle. I shut it off and immediately called Home Depot, they told me they would have Whirlpool come out to fix it in a few weeks. In the mean time I'm without a washer. To begin with I paid for a Maytag washer, so why wasn't I told at the time of purchase that it was really a Whirlpool. When Whirlpool came to my house, they did something to it and said, they had to order a new wringer assembly and then come back another time. By that time I was furious, I had no way of washing my clothes. I called the Manager at Home Depot and they argued that it had to send someone to look at it again. After several weeks they came back and fixed it, but I never got a call back from Home Depot to see if it worked, reimbursement for buying a broken wash machine ... I got nothing! If I would have wanted a re-furbished washing machine, I would have bought a used one. This was supposed to be brand new Maytag and not a Whirlpool and definitely not a refurbished. I went weeks without a washer and paid full price for a refurbished machine.

Awful company
Maytag Model #MMV4205 This model was bought less then three months before the heating element burnedout. Maytag would not exchange. Told us they would send a repair person to fix. 5 days later rerpair man comes and says he cannot fix it since he did not have the parts. An order is placed to order the parts. A week later one part shows up broken. When the Maytag repair man shows up he says that parts is no good and that the two other parts were backordered and would not ship for a month. We call there response number and request to get this resolved quickly and do not want to wait another month to get the microwave fixed. The person (jeff) at customer service tells us that he can not do anything but put an expedite in for the parts. We inform him that the repairman had already tried to put an expedite on the part and that he was tiold that because this is a new model that they cannot get us a part till then. The customer service person tells us he does not believe this and says that an expedite will be put in and that we have to wait for the part. This is the worst service I have dealt with. We spent over $400 on a microwave that is supposed to be the top of the line and instead the problems make us feel as if this was the worst decision to buy this model. Customer service (Jeff) was informed this complaint would be put in and he dergards are frustration does not help us. All we want is to have a working microwave. A replacement model would have sufficed which they could do immediately but instead they make us wait and go without a microwave for who knows how much longer.

Dangerous products
We purchased a Maytag dishwasher, purchased the top of the line metal tub etc. they never informed me of the potential to burn down my house. Yes it almost did. After the sparking incident I Found out about the recall I called the company they said mine was too new and not on the list .

I explained that the repair man that came was a retired whirlpool -Maytag repair man and it should not have sparked like it had and I was lucky that we were home and I cut the power. Or it would have burn down the house.

Now after 3 weeks of trying to get them to do something finally a repairman of their choice came out . He said it was one of the worse he had seen the entire wire harness was fried. And he would have Maytag-whirlpool send the appropriate parts to repair and prevent from happening again. Why are they not informing the public and correcting the problem before they sell these dangerous products. This leaking into the wiring hazard issue: has been going on for quite some time.

Poor reliability
Re the Maytag Performa sise by side refrigerator. Ice maker quit after warranty. Now the freezer has quit . Model PSD243LGRQ. Very disappointed in the unreliability for such a brand name.

Lots of problems
We purchased a Maytag French door refrigerator from Lowes about 4 years ago and have numerous problems ever since.
The fan had to be replaced twice, both times the unit out of service for over a week. Of cource all food was ruined.
The water dispenser quit working, started working, quit working currently not working. Changed filter no help??
The right door wouldn't close correctly I cleaned the gasket, this helped somewhat for a little while.
Ordered a new gasket ($80.00) it's worse.
Deli drawer came off track, had to order one it is currently working.
Ice maker works when it feels like it and at it's own pace, about like a goverment worker.
Had to get it replaced once.
Do not buy Maytag!!!

Blinking Lights Flapping
Same as SO many complaints here. Flashing lights on the control panel...dispenser flapping...ice maker not strong enough to break ice. I have 45 days left on warranty. I HOPE I can get this resolved. Has ANYONE gotten this fixed? THANKS!

Terrible experience
I purchased a Maytag Performa (PAV-1 Series, Oversized Capacity Plus Washer) clothes washer in May 2003 from Best Buy. While washing a load of clothes on March 16, 2009, the washer leaked the entire tub load of water all over the basement floor -- from underneath the washer. All hose connections at the spigot and at the back of the washer are tight and not leaking. The discharge hose, at least where it is visible, is not leaking. After spending much time vacuuming up the water from the floor and cleaning up the basement, I prepared myself to test the washer again. It started leaking again, so I turned it off. I turned the dial just past "Rinse" to where it starts pumping water out and I successfully discharged the tub of water through the discharge hose and down the drain.

I have had about six washers at two houses over the last 40 years and I have never had an experience like this. My last washer, with an expected life of 10 to 12 years, lasted 14 years. It did not leak, it just wore out and stopped working.

After researching and reading many complaints about Maytag washers, I will never buy another one. Also, I will not buy a washer from the store that convinced me to buy a Maytag because it was the most reliable. In retrospect, the Maytag cost $400. The manufacturer's warranty ran out after one year. I did not purchase a consumer's extended warranty, which would have cost me about $250 by now, and from what I have read, they are not worth it because the service is lousy.

I will apply the money I saved to buy a new washer, but it will not be a Maytag!
