No show for repair
My Maytag Refrigerator is leaking. Monday I phoned the authorized Maytag repair service. The earliest available repairman would be there Friday between 8am-5pm.
I was up at 8am ready for him. At 2:30pm he called to say he will not be here today- but could come next thursday.
If this is the best Maytag can offer then I will buy another brand. And I sure will keep away from undependable place like A&E

compressor burned out
Bought a maytag refrigerator in Oct of 06. Stopped cooling on Aug. 28, 2009. Repair man said the relay switch and the compressor are both burned out. Est. cost to fix, 500.00 to 650.00. Thousands of maytag refrigerators are under a recall for the exact same problem, but since our model is not, they will not fix it. Very poor customer service-they actually hung up on my husband when they found out that our frig. is not one of the recall models.

8 MONTHS OLD , BROKE DOWN ALREADY
AFTER READING THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS ABOUT MAYTAG APPLIANCE, S, I CAN NOW UNDERSTAND WHY I GOT ABSOLUTELY NO WHERE WHEN I CALLED THEIR CONSUMER AFFAIRS. WE SPENT GOOD MONEY ON A SO CALLED QUALITY LINE OF PRODUCTS. WELL HERE WE ARE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, 8 MONTH OLD REFRIGERATOR, BOTTOM FREEZER, TOTALLY CRAPPED OUT. THEY ARE TELLING US THEY HAVE TO ORDER PARTS, THAT COULD TAKE UP TO 4 TO 6 WEEKS. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. ADD INSULT TO INJURY WE ALSO THREW OUT ABOUT $ 200.00 WORTH OF FOOD. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PIECE OF THIS SO CALLED QUALITY JUNK AGAIN!!!, AS FAR AS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE, IT STINKS, THEY ARE IGNORANT, AND DON, T CARE, BECAUSE THEY ALREADY GOT YOUR MONEY. SO BUYER BEWARE.

RECALL
MAYTAG VOLUNTARILY RECALLING ABOUT 1.6 MILLION MAYTAG AND OTHER BRANDS REFRIGERATORS BECAUSE OF FIRE HAZARD. MINE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE REPAIR MAN REPLACED THE IGNITION RELAY, WHICH WAS BAD FROM STOCK, SO THE COMPRESSSOR IS NOT WORKING NOW.
I AM WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR FOR 4 DAYS .
MAYTAG AND A&E FACTORY SERVICE HAVE A MISSCOMMUNICATION PROBLEM, BECAUSE THEY STILL DID NOT ORDERED THE PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
OF COURSE ALL OF MY FOOD IN THE GARBAGE AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THEY GOING TO PAY FOR MY LOSS, NOT EVEN MENTION I USED MY VACATION DAYS TO WAIT FOR THE REPAIR MAN.

Lack of Service
Waited 6 hours for A & E today. I called them, they alledged they called me to make me aware of they delay, thay had NOT called at all. Told me it would be several hours and would call my cell when they were heaed my way. One hour later the technician called and wondered if I had rescheduled??? Told him I was told between 8 and noon today, it was 2:00pm. He said he would be there in 20 minutes. I said CMA!!

Once I realized A & e is owned or a subsidary of Sears/K-Mart it al made sense.

How they stay in business is beyond me. Never again would I use them and this was for a recall of a piece of Maytag junk.

compressor burned out-5th year!
after 5th year---start relay burned out--just out of warranty! 4 months later--recall came out--had repairman come out and he put new relay on---compressor was seized!!! Had to go buy another refrigerator---never again a maytag!!! I am writing letters and posting notes for customers not to buy any maytag products. They will not goodwill any repairs after warranty has expired! what a bummer! So much for customer satisfaction. OH, by the way---my GE refigerator lasted 26 years and only got rid of it to buy the maytag for a color change and size upgrade---not because it stopped working!!! Unhappy JIM in Virginia!!!

LOUSY ICE MAKER
WE OWN A MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR BOUGHT AT MILLER'S RADIO & T.V. SERVICE INC.
THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST APPLIANCE WE HAVE EVER OWNED. WE PURCHASE ALL OUR APPLIANCES FROM MILLER'S BECAUSE THEY SERVICE WHAT THEY SELL AND ARE A GOOD LOCAL BUSINESS. HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ICE MAKER IT'S UNBELEIVABLE. I
SAID I WOULDN'T SPEND ANOTHER NICKEL ON THIS REFRIGERATOR, BUT MY WIFE JUST CALLED MILLER'S TO COME SERVICE THE ICE MAKER AGAIN AS IT WILL BE CHEAPER THAN BUYING A NEW ONE WITH ME NOT WORKING. WAS READING CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ON THE P.C. AND APPARENTLY MAYTAG HAS A VERY BLEMISHED NAME CONCERNING THEIR PRODUCTS. YEARS AGO IF YOU OWNED A MAYTAG IT WOULD LAST FOREVER. MAYBE THAT'S THE UNDERLYING THEME TODAY. IF IT FAILS OR TOO MANY REPAIRS THE CUSTOMER WILL BUY A NEW ONE. WELL, NO MORE MAYTAG APPLIANCES FOR US IN THE FUTURE, YOUR QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP HAS DETERIORATED BEYOND BELEIF. TIME TO SWITH TO ANOTHER BRAND. CAN'T BE ANY WORSE THAN MAYTAG PRODUCTS (AND CHEAPER)

Refrigerator Model #MTB1956GE
I bought the above Maytag refrigerator May 2004. An auxiliary motor broke today and the food was no longer being kept cold. The store said they couldn't send anyone for 3 days and referred me to the owner's son also named McNally. He came out and put in a new motor for $135 plus $55 for the service call. I then called the store's co-owner who informed me all brands are only guaranteed for one year and I should have bought a 5-year insurance policy for $103. Meanwhile I have a 51-year old GE refrigerator still keeping food cold and never repaired. (It does need a new light though) This has been a f------ rip-off and I can't find a company address to whom to complain. A lot of good this will probably do.

Warranty
I purchased a Maytag refrigerator in 2006. After a week, the ice machie went out and they came to fix it within 4 days. it was replaced. On June 29, 2008, the ice machine went on the blink again. I reported it on a Sunday June 29 and on Friday, July 4, the service man came and informed that the electrical board would have to be replaced and theat it would have to be ordered. He said he should hae it by Monday, July 7. Needless to say, as of today, my refrigerator has stopped cooling, the lights are blinking off and on constantly and the flap of the ice maker is popping open and closed. In addition, it is beeping. I was told that it will be repaired on Monday July 14.

This is the worst warranty service I have received in the 23 years that I have owed appliances.
I made the mistake of puchasing a warranty from Conns instead of Maytag. Please don't make that mistake. I will never do that again. I have concluded that not only are their appliances of bad quality, but their warranty service is horrendous.
