Maytag washer Reviews

LEMON
Four and a half years ago I purchased a Maytag Neptune front loader washing machine - and the nightmare began. I did purchase an extended warranty which is the only reason I kept the machine. It has been nothing but trouble, many service calls, many new parts. It would not spin out a load with more than 2 bath towels or 3 pair of jeans, it shook so badly we have cracks in our wall and ceiling and it had a bad smell inside, despite numerous cleanings. Things got worse when Whirlpool bought Maytag and the service nightmare started. In May it took me 5 1/2 hours to finally arrange a service call. Many times I called and was put on hold, hung up on, given the wrong numbers etc and finally got the call arranged only to find out they had not put the warranty information in the file so I had to start again. That call was a new pump and a new seal. It worked for another couple of weeks and died once again.
I got jacked around again by Whirlpool and the warranty people. If there intent was to make me give up completely, they won. Although this pc of junk still has a warranty on it, the garbage people will pick it up on Wed and take it where it should have gone a long time ago - the dump! I now have a new LG washer and dryer and love them. They do not shake at all and they spin out even large loads. I do not have to deal with Whirlpool ever again, which make me very happy.

TERRIBLE customer service
I had a repair appointment with Sears Home Services today from 1 to 5pm. I missed the technicians call saying that he was on his way. I immediately called the number back and was told that the technician had already gone home for the day!?! I just had a call from him just seconds ago! How could he have already gone home? I took the entire afternoon off work for them to tell me I had to reschedule days later! After talking to 5 different Customer Service Reps. Shante she called herself, told me that was her final offer to help me and if I did not want to schedule for another day that could wait on hold indefinitely!!! Wow! That is incredible customer service! I was told I had to wait for the repairman for 4 hours not keep the phone attached to my head and wait on a call! I will never deal with Sears again.

never worked properly
we bought a maytag washer 7 yrs ago and it never worked properly from day one. we/ve had a repairman out almost yearly and always told me just run it till it breaks. (we had a warranty) well, now the transmission is shot and it's been three weeks waiting for the part. I WILL NEVER BUY A MAYTAG OR FROM SEARS AGAIN AS THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES. I HOPE THIS GETS TO THE BIG SHOTS UPSTAIRS, BECAUSE ANYONE I KNOW WILL HEAR ABOUT YOUR SERVICE. my husband has been a sears customer for 50 years and we will not be customers anymore.

Repair
First and foremost I have to say that I have never had a worse experience with a company that I was paying to do a repair. I found the customer service rep & Manager in the call center HORRIBLE as well as the Field tech was very unprofessinal. I set up and appointment for Sat 3/6/2010 from 1-5pm the tech call to advise he was on the way however he needed to confirmed that i could pay for the charge for the visit and the parts. The tech came in and took the front of the washer apart and ran a full load. Why he took the front of the washer apart I'm not sure because my ticket stated that the leak was in the back of the washer. The tech was in my home about 25 mins and informed me that there was no problem with the washer, he closed up the washer and was out of the house within 45 mins. Saturday evening I went to use the washer and within 15 mins of running the washer I had water running from the back of the washer. I called A&E and requested to speak to a supervisor because I didn't want to take out my anger on the CSR. The rep gave me to a supervisor by the name of Robert Galvin I explained the situation to Robert however he went on to tell me that they dont have service visit on Sunday but he would give me an appt for Monday between 8a-12p. I requested a call from Robert manager Aron McDaniel (it's now 9:25pm 3/7/2010 & I've yet to get a call from Aron. 3/7/2010 I received a automatic call to remind me that I had an appointment set up for 3/8/2010 8A-12P. I was so upset I called the horrible call center again and I was treated so bad I finally just asked that the tech be sent today. The same DUM Tech came back again and advise me that he had to charge me another 45 for a part and it would be 48 hrs before the part would arrive. To sum up this horrible treatment I received I paid 174.00 to be treated like shit and my washer is still broke. I'll be following up with Maytag to advise them of the service I received from there Contracter.<br />
DO NOT USE A&E Factory Service if you have appliance repair. request another contracter because these people do not belive in CUSTOMER service!

bleach stains
I have a Maytag Washer and last year it began leaving bleach stains on my color clothes. Sears Service determined that the dispenser needed to be replaced and the part was ordered. A month later the part arrived and it was the wrong part so a new one was ordered which arrived a month later. Now a year later the same thing has happened and again the service man ordered a new dispenser which I am waiting for since Nov 09, 2009. Last week I was told it was sent out, today I called the national customer service number and was told it was closed out on the computer so that meant the part was shipped. I told her I had not received the parts and after further checking she determined that the parts were still on back order.
Many of my dark and light color clothes are ruined from bleach spots. We empty the dispenser and wash it every time we use it with bleach but there must be bleach in the line and it spurts out on our next wash. The customer service rep I spoke with today was very nice but could not help me in resolving this problem. Sears should replace my washer if they can't guarantee repair of the appliance. I also feel Sears is responsible for replacing my damaged clothes,

poor warranty service
I too, have a complaint and A&E factory service personnel and deceptive practices. I have a 2 month old front load Maytag washer. All the fancy buttons and cycles. The on/off and the pause/start buttons stopped working. I called one Maytag repair service company and when they found out it was warranty work, they said to call somebody else!!. I then called Maytag and got A&E number for warranty repairs. They came out promptly the first time, determined it was the "motherboard" (or something equivalent) and ordered the part. They said they would be back in 10 days with the part and repair. BUT, if I wanted it repaired quicker, while the repair was covered under the warranty, the expediated shipping was not, so I could pay $28 for the part to be FEDEX'd and they would be back on Saturday. (4 days). Thinking, I will pay that much and have to go to the LaundryMat, I said okay. They gave me a card with an 800 number on it to call when the part arrived. I diligently watched for the package on my porch and on Thursday night the part had arrived. I called the number (all automated) and all was well. They even had an automated system call my cell to confirm they would be back on Saturday. I got a call on Saturday saying the technician was at my house, even though I had requested a 15 minute warning call to run home from work. I made it home in 7 minutes, but no one was at the house. I called the number back and got a different operator and told him no-one was there. He stated, no he would be there in 15 minutes! (okay get your stories straight, people). I waited 30 minutes and called them again. This time he stated that the technician was "still waiting" for me to get home. No, I replied, he is NOT at MY house and confirmed the address for the 3rd time. They insisted he was indeed at my house 4 or 5 more times. Finally, with me standing in the middle of the street, I see the van drive up. Driver stated " the GPS directed me 2 blocks over" and when questioned what the street sign said, he replied that he never looks at the green signs. OMG! Now, I acknowledge that I am definitely unhappy at this point. Then he gets in the house, opens the box that FEDEX had delivered and stated, "Nope, not the right part, where is the other box?" We only received one box. He called the "shop" and was told the other part was on backorder.

I haven't heard from them since. Now I am looking for another company to fix my Maytag washer.

No cust. service
I called Maytag Warranty for repair of my washer. Was not given a claim number and was told I will be notified. I waited over a day for a call. I called Maytag back again and was told to make my own service call. I called the company I was told to call and they said it would be over a week before a service person could be here. I have a house full of kids and being out of a washer for over a week is unsat. I had a problem a couple months ago with the washer and called and had service the next day. I called Maytag back and requested another service company and was told they cannot do, that the one assigned is it.I requested a supervisor and was refused with some lame excuse..I called another service unit that could be here tomorrow then I told them the claim number and thety said can't do because Maytag has assigned a company to repair. I called Maytag again and was told they will send an email to somewhere within the company and ask them to assign another repair company. If I have to wait over a week for service when there are two companies here that can service the machine this week, then I see a cancellation after this repaid...

Poor customer service and workmanship
We puchased a Maytag washer from Sears on January 1st 2008. We used it for maybe 3 loads and the knob broke. We called Sears to find out what to do. We were told that we could either bring back the washer or have a repair that would be under the Maytag warranty. What a mistake, we should have returned the washer and would have saved ourselves a lot of aggravation. A&E came on a requested Saturday appointment which their time frame to show up on Saturday is 8-5. The repairman didn't have the part and ordered it and we made the follow up appointment for the next Saturday. The repairman showed up and stated that "I have never changed on of these before" should have been a red flag to me. He intalled the new part that had been delivered to my home and left. The knob broke again he had to come back, no part in hand, and reordered etc etc. They have been here 5 times. The last part that had came had a neighboring city on it for our address so when they reordered the part we made sure that this was corrected. The part never showed and I called customer service. I spoke with a supervisor named Joyce and she acted like she was doing me a favor by re ordering the part and I had some nerve to ask that it be overnighted so that my Saturday appointment could be kept. She actually had the nerve to ask me if I had check the address in the other city to see if it was there after all it is MY washer. i called Maytag and filed a complaint and they stated that they had other repair people that do their warranty work in my area which is not what Sears nor A&E stated to me. Both said that A&E was the only company doing warranty work on behalf of Maytag. I, like the other people on this site, will never have A&E in my home again unless I really feel the need to be treated like dirt by a so called "custormer service" representative. Please beware they do not know what they are doing nor how to handle customers.

Missed appointment
February 26,2008
Original appointment schedules for Feb 26,2008 between 8:00am-12:00pm. Called at 10:ooam for status and was told that the repairman was on call # 3 in the 94403 area. My job is his next one. I called again at 12:15 and received the same status of being # 3 in the 94403 area and no estimation of when the repairman will be coming. The manager Niki at 800 905-9505 sent off two text messages to have the repairman call me within 15 minutes.
Still waiting for call.......it is now 1:05pm.
