I purchased tires online for my vehicle and was told by AAFES online that
they would put them on for me. I took the car to there center today the
19th of April at 1430. When I went to get the car they informed me that
they had broke my rotor stud, which are the studs that the tire is secured to
the vehicle, an obvious safety hazard!. I was informed that I needed to
replace the part somewhere else and I had to pay for it. They advised not
to drive on the highway until I had it fixed.. I live 13 miles away from my
job and therefore have to drive the highway everyday. My car was in there
care when they broke it and I should not have to pay out of my pocket to fix
what they have done. I then went to the cashier to pay for my services and
the lady there told me that it was wear and tear, an obvious assumption due
to her not being present when it was broken or observing the broken part in
question, basically she repeated what she was told by the mechanic. Unaware
to them that we just had the rotors replaced not more than thirty(30) days
earlier. How could it have been wear and tear?? She was very rude to us and
gave us the manager's number and when we called it was just the number to
the Shopette. I am very upset on what has happened and think that I should
not have to pay for it when the mechanic broke my stud.
