Inhospitable behavior by employees
On Tuesday 28th of July 2009 around 14:30PM CT I decided to threat my 5 years old daughter and 2 years old son visiting McDonald's, we visited the restaurant located at 6720 W Archer Chicago, IL 60638 (Store #805), I was ordering the food at the counter while my kids ran to the playgrounds offered to children inside the restaurant, a minute later my daughter came back frightened because an employee (her name is Charlotte) had yelled to them that they needed the wear sox. I kept my children with me until I got the order ( KS#3 7/28/09 14:30 order 905) and we walk to have a seat and eat in the dinning room.
After a while I had by them observed others kids going to the playgrounds without sox so I allowed them to go, 3 seconds later a McDonald's employee approached me with a very unpleasant mood yelling at me that I must call my kids back from the playgrounds and make them wear sox in order to be allowed to play. What first stroke me was that my kids were barely getting to the games which made me felt that she was watching us all the time and waiting for them to get back to the playgrounds, and as I said, I had observed others kids going without sox. In an effort to stop my kids from getting to the playgrounds she ran over to caught them up which scared me and I asked to her not to talk to my kids, if there was something to be ask she should ask to me, my kids had done nothing wrong. This must had been a shock and felt overwhelm since she called upon the manager on site ( her name is Clarissa) and another employee (from whom I didn't have the chance to get her name). Once again I felt intimidated by the three of them, I firmly believe that is not way to handle the situation, certainly no way to threat customers, specially this third employee who sweared at me upon the point that the manager had to stop her from kept on yelling at me and sent her back to her task. I always thought that if a manager needs to handle a situation, it should be in a friendly and polite way in order to assess the customer's point of view and not standing along two employees in an intimidating way. It was a stressful, unprofessional and out of hands by them, she decide to call the police. They had gave me enough reasons to believe that it was better for my family to call my husband to come bring my van's key . My daughter was crying believing that she would get arrested and I honestly did not care anymore for what these employees had to say, we were ready to leave. I had ordered the food to be eaten in but I did not had the chance to eat and since I've been asked to leave, I asked for a bag to carry out my food but that was too much to ask and none was provided.
By the time my husband and the police arrived a few customers had stand up for us and questioned the manager why they had called the police, nobody understood their actions, all the parents had called their kids from the playgrounds and decided to leave, unquestionable the mcdonald's employees had become hostiles to the customers (not only me but also the ones who had stand up).
When I had the opportunity to explain to the police and letting him know that I was waiting for my husband, it was outrageous to see that they even when as far as to ask the police to have me arrest, in front of my kids. Of course that did not happened since no law had been broken and they used a better common sense.
Nowdays we are dealing with our daughter to forget the whole experience and go back to mcdonalds since she used to loved and it was a weekly visit, she still is frightened thinking that she would get arrested.
I would like to know if this is the proper conduct to have for the McDonald's employees and more than anything if my kids will be welcome.

Brainless employees
McDonald's, Hwy 19 & 41, Jonesboro, GA has incompetent (brainless) employees. They took my order, took my money and refused to give me the food (they said they were out of salads), I told them that a substitute would be fine and they couldn't even provide a hamburger. After explaining that my order had not been correctly filled to at least four different employees and waiting for 45 minutes, I demanded that the manager give me my money back. A lot of wasted time and no food ! They are rude and incompetent. Needless to say I will not purchase food at this McDonald's again!!! This happened on June 25, 2008 at 9:15 p.m., Jonesboro, GA.

Bad service
I ordered a large frozen coke on one occasion and it was only half full so I asked them to fill it up but they refused. And on two other occasions when I ordered a large chips it wasn't even half full. This was at the mcdonalds in north mackay and there have been many different situations just like this were have forgotten burgers and things like that. They are very lazy and overun with teenagers working there that are quite rude and do not have any respect for their customers. They need to employ more adults during after school hours so there will be more responsibilty.

terrible TERRIBLE service
My husband and me visted Mcdonal's store #2724. It is the worst and the most terrible Mcdonal's we have ever been to. It was almost 2 pm when we visited and there were a 8 persons line we had to go through. The girl who took our order didn't greet us or anything, all she said is the amount we need to pay with a very unpleasant altitude. Next was the waiting for our food which took about 20 minutes. Our order was ready to be put on the tray, but all the staffs behind the counter just walking by but no one paid any attention nor put our food on our tray. My huaband asked one of the staff who wasn't wearing a name tag to please put our food on our tray, That staff looked my husband strangely and started calling him "DOG", AND ALL THE OTHER STAFFS STARTED LAUGHING. We asked for a manager, a lady named Stephenie who claim herself as the manager who was not wearing a name tag as well. She refused to provide us the name of the staff who called my husband "DOG" and told us she doesn't have a customer service number for us to call when we asked her for one.
The whole visit in this location is absolutely disgracfuly and TERRIBLE. We contacted Mcdonal's later on and didn't get any apologize or answer about this inncident. We will definitly not going back to that location. JUST UNBLIEVABLE TERRIBLE.

Terrible service
Again, I went to McDonald's. I ordered a Big and Tasty meal, with a coke with no ice. My drink had ice in it, and I immediately returned it. I watched her originally get my drink at the window fountain. When I returned it, she walked to the lobby fountain to get my drink. After we drove off, I found cheese melted to my damned sandwich, to the meat on one side and the tomato and lettuce on the other. That was a delight to scrape off.
If I had wanted cheese, I would have had to of paid .30 for it. I guess if I don't want it, they throw it in for free if it means making me miserable. I specifically said no ice, and no cheese when I ordered, because they try to sell you cheese every damned time. As if it was the greatest thing ever and you would be making a horrible mistake if you forgot to take advantage of your opportunity to have the rat droppings they call cheese.
Why the hell does that nasty piece of rubberized, coagulated, yellowish thing they call cheese cost .30? It's free on a fish filet, where it has no business. And the Big Mac. And, the price difference between a hamburger and a cheeseburger is NOT .30! It's .10 or .20. Why can't they get it together?
Their cheese is disgusting. At least I've found one way to take advantage of their penny pinching ripoffs. Instead of using those little annoying paper ketchup cups when I dine in, I grab a couple of drink lids and fill one of those suckers up with ketchup. No more having to grab ten little cups to get enough ketchup.
This was not the fault of McDonalds. This is yet another case of a consumer being wronged by a lazy, uncaring, non-listening slob of an employee. Putting cheese on there and putting ice in the drink proves she was not listening. And she didn't care enough to check the grill slip when assembling my order. That's why employees are treated the way they are, so don't whine about how wrong it is to talk down to them or speak illy of them. It is not corporate's fault, they can't come down there on a Saturday night and hold her hand to make sure she does her job. They can just fire her on Monday.

POOR SERVICE
My name is Paul Broughton, and I reside at 305 Chestnut St. in St. Thomas, on June 21 at 10:20 am, I went into the Mcdonalds to get two breakfast meals for my grandson and his friend. There was one girl taking the order, one person retrieving the order. When I arrived, there was approximately five people waiting for their order, and I was number seven in line to give my order. It took about ten minutes for me to give my order, from that point the waiting game started. None of the previous people who were waiting for their meals had received them at that point. They took one more order, then preceded to try to figure out who's order was who's. I heard one gentleman say to one of the people waiting, I have been waiting forty minutes. Thru the waiting period, three of the employees decided to have a conference. Finally at five minutes to eleven, I asked to speak to the manager. The employee I spoke to, went to get the manager, when she returned, she told me that she could not come and talk to me, to write down my complaint and she would deal with it later. I started to write out my complaint, telling the girl this would be a waste of time, as she would probably just throw it out, the manager arrived to see what my complaint was. I told her it was totally unacceptable, to have to wait so long, her excuse was that at that time of day, the wait is always that long. My question to you is, if this is a problem at this time of day, why not have more staff to accomodate the people? In closing, it was interesting that I received my order within minutes, ahead of the gentleman who was their before me. One family waited so long, they asked for their money back, two other families decided not to give orders and left. I thought you should be aware of this ongoing problem. Regards, Paul Broughton

orange pop
I cannot believe that McDonald's has either decided to remove orange pop from their menu or allowed Coca Cola to decide to remove it! I refuse to make them a restaurant choice for my family anymore. Hope many more do the same!!!

Poor Service
We had difficulty placing our order because the girl operating the cash register was either poorly trained or could not hear us. My husband actually made the comment that this was the longest it had ever taken him to place an order at a drive through. So, we paid for our order (2 large fries, 1 med tea, 1 large coke, 1 chicken nugget happy meal) and pulled up to the window to pick it up. The girl gave us a reciept but then forgot what we had ordered - so she had to ask us... As we were pulling away, we noticed fries missing from the happy meal. My husband went inside to deal with the issue when I noticed that my large fry was only half full (Since that's all I ordered, I expected to get what I paid for). The advertised kids toy (KidsBop cd) was not the toy we were given; we were given a sucky night at the museum toy. Since my child is 2 years old, I asked for a toddler toy instead and they were all out. I would not have paid the inflated price for a happy meal had I known that we were stuck with an age-INAPPROPRIATE toy. Hands down this was the worst experience I've ever had with a McDonalds! For the $10 we spent, I wish we had gone else where. I have written a letter of complaint to their corporate office.

Working at McDonald's
I worked at a McDonald's for six weeks because I couldn't take it.First of all(before I get into the customers) most of my co-workers were not nice. There was this like 60 year old woman who was just a bitch. It was all about her.I was getting a cup to pour some coffee for a customer and she's like "Excuse me!I need to get a McFlurry cup!Next time wait until I'm done!"Umm...excuse me I was here first and I was going to be there for 10 seconds I think you can wait. It's not all about you! Then one time I said "Excuse me."I was getting something I forgot what it was and she again said "Just wait until I'm done!"Yeah I have no idea who hired her but no one working there liked her. Then one night the manager on duty told me to "Get the fuck out of her way!"I should have said something then or just walked off and let her do it on her own but I just took it.One day one of my co-workers was like "You're taking all my fries!"She kept going on and on about it and she was like "There isn't a fry fairy".Blah blah blah.I eventually said "Ok!" with an attitude. Also a lot of my co-workers would just yell at me when I did something wrong instead of showing me how to do something. What a great team...right?I'm not saying this how all McDonald's are but the one I worked at was like this.I don't mind going back to fast food because that was just one place but I definitely don't want to be a fast food worker forever. And I don't appreciate the dirty look every time I go into that McDonald's!
Now onto the customers.Don't get me wrong a lot of the customers were very nice and I had my favorites and a lot of them apologized when they would get rude. However of course there are always those customers/people that think the world revolves around them.First thing's first...the customer is not always right!Sometimes the customers say they ordered something when they didn't and then say "Well don't I get something free?Isn't that the policy?"Uh no!If we severely mess up your order or an employee is completely rude to you or you get sick or something then yeah but if either you change your order just to be an ass or an employee didn't hear you because those places are very loud...why would you get something free?Just go back up to the employee and say "I ordered another cheeseburger but I didn't get it.Can you please make me one?"That's all you have to say!Yeah we know you had a hard day at work but what do you think we're doing...we're working too!
I had this guy(he was like maybe 50-something?) and he ordered a senior coffee.I went to pour his coffee and it was steaming and he asked if the coffee was hot "I said yes because it's steaming."He took a sip and said it's not hot enough and then said "Coffee is supposed to be hot!"Nah really?I thought you wanted ice coffee! So I rinsed out his cup and then my manager told me to help a gentlemen who had been waiting for a double cheeseburger forever. Why she asked me when there were other employees there beats me but she was the same one who told me to get the fuck out of her way!Anyways she says it loud enough for that customer to hear(the senior coffee guy) and so I go and get the double cheeseburger for that one guy.The senior coffee starts yelling and bitching "Where is my coffee?!"he says something else and my manager says something to him back(the one time she stuck up for me) and after I give the guy his double I go back to the register and say "I'm sorry sir.I had to help that customer before you."He's like "He wasn't before me!"Uh yeah dude that's why he was standing there in front of you and I took his order! What a bitchy guy and he's not even a senior!
I had this one lady who wanted more ice for her iced tea and I told her somebody's getting ice.I took my orders and somebody still hadn't gotten the ice and so I can understand why she was upset. But then when we finally gave it to her it still wasn't enough and she's like "I can't wait any longer! My sister is out in the car and it's really hot!"Just so you know it was like 70 degrees outside and for San Diego on a summer day...that's pretty damn good!
There was one guy who I was taking his order and I thought he had said a small coke but I wasn't sure so I asked him and with an attitude he goes "Yeah that's what I ordered!"Ok sir well I can always get your order wrong if you want me too!
I have had other rude customers and such but too many to list them all...if you actually read all this that's cool and if you didn't I understand. If you have a rude customer story or a rude boss story I want to hear it.I won't be like "Well you should have done this" like some people do.I really want to hear your stories!
