went through drive-thru june 8th 10:25 p.m., when the black man greeted me, before i could tell him what i want to order, he yells " WHAT!..then i hear him and someone inside talking to each other. all the while im thinking, " um. HELLOOOOOO let's not yell at the customer who did NOTHING to deserve it, and let's talk to each other AFTER WE'RE DONE HELPING THE CUSTOMER WHO IS THE MAIN REASON WHY I HAVE THIS JOB AT MCDONALD'S.!!" i wait a few seconds..then the black man apologizes about it and takes my order. after im finished giving him the cash, he gives me back the change I am owed, i drive to the food/drink pickup window. the short-haired black girl takes her sweet time fixing only 3 large sweet tea drinks..i watch her the whole time and at least 1 minute straight out of the 3 and half minutes it takes her to fix the drinks...she is playing with her CELL PHONE. while she's handing me my drinks i ask her " are these lite on the ice? " she looked at me funny, i wait a couple of seconds..than ask it again. she replies " oh yeah they easy on da ice." I felt like saying " well just double checking..you seemed a little distracted by YOUR CELL PHONE. MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE TEXTING OR PLAYING WITH IT (ON YOUR BREAK OR WHEN YOUR SHIFT ENDS...NOT WHILE A CUSTOMER IS WAITING on you to fix his order and bring it to him after he already paid for it!!!"
BUT I FIGURE( after being treated this way by MOST black people in mississippi my entire 29 years of living here).maybe it is because my skin is too light or not quite dark enough. I'll come back to MCdonald's when im either black enough..or they hire more WELL MANNERED decent workers(..hint...99 percent of the time..those white people...hell even Hispanics have always treated me better. they at least have the common sense enough to not talk loud ebonics instead of calm, clearly spoken english. and they have the common sense enough to know that most customers DONT CARE to hear about their party nights or anything else that is inappropriate at the workplace. I had to fire a kid at kroger once because i caught him on his cell phone AT THE REGISTER when he should have been scanning a customer's groceries. the cashier was on his cellphone for literally 30 seconds straight and basically caused the line to back up to 5 customers straight. THIS is the kind of behavior at least TWO of your workers illustrated tonight.
job market is tough as it is. HERE'S A BIG HINT. STOP HIRING MR AND MRS GHETTO FABULOUS. and start hiring based on PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS. NOT if your " cuuuuuz" needs a job hook up just so he or she play around on the clock.
