I feel something should be done about this. To me it is false advertising. It is also a large National Company. It is to do with McCafe. A part of McDonalds.
Big posters behind the counter and on the paper tray mats offer a special deal.
The sign reads Coffee and muffin $5. It is followed by or slice or any bakery item.
I asked for a $5 deal but I’ll have a scone. “Sorry Sir, It doesn’t include a scone. That will cost you 6.90.”
“But it says any bakery item.”
What is a scone if it is not a bakery item?
On its own a coffee costs 3.80.
A slice is 3.50
A Danish is 3.70.or 4.40
A scone is 3.10
In the 5.00 deal I can have a Danish or slice but not a scone which is the cheapest item.
1st. I was wanting the cheapest item.
2nd. The sign did read ANY bakery item.
I feel this should be sorted out.
Thanking you,
Gordon Heyward
PS. This happened at McDonalds in Merivale Christchurch.
