Back in October or last September, I foolishly signed up for MCI long-distance service (they cold-called me with this offer - $15.00 per month "unlimited" long distance, etc.etc.)
My bill has seldom been less than $30.00 per month, and I don't call "long distance" (other than perhaps California from Oregon, my home) very often.
Since then I've fallen behind on my bill and MCI CALLS ME AT LEAST THREE TO FOUR TIMES A DAY !!
That's "a DAY", folks !
AUTOMATED DIALING ! My bill isn't quite $200.00 right now, and I cancelled my account yesterday, and still with the AUTOMATED DIALING ! First thing, 8:30 a.m. in the morning, then sometimes mid-morning or lunchtime, then dinnertime !
If they reach my answering machine, the automated dialing simply calls me back another two or three times THAT EVENING !!
THIS ENTIRE THING IS HARASSMENT OF THE VERY WORST KIND !
My mortage company or Visa Bill doesn't BUG ME THIS MUCH !!
UGH !!!
DO NOT PATRONIZE MCI, Inc. for long distance service (unless you enjoy being harassed three times a day, EVERY DAY!)
