No help granted on medical aid claim query
I visited Med24 Montana on 7 November 2009 after I fractured my wrist. The medical aid did not pay the account as the ICD10 code Med24 submitted indicated my wrist was sprained, and not fractured. Due to my benefits being exhausted, the medical aid rejected the claim and I paid it myself. It subsequently came to my attention that my condition was a PMB condition, and as such should have been paid by the medical aid. When I phoned the Med24 Montana accounts department to request them to revisit the account to assess whether they have used the correct ICD10 codes, they firstly accused me of wanting to commit fraud - even after I told them I would bring the X-Rays again to the doctor as support of my wrist being fractured. Then they told me I would again need to pay a consultation fee for visiting the doctor to assess the X-Rays - for a mistake they made! Then they told me that the medical aid rejected my claim because my benefits were exhausted, and that even if they resubmit the claim the scheme wouldn't pay - which is untrue as the scheme is required to pay PMB claims. Then they told me that it was too late to submit the claim, untrue because I have 4 months to submit a claim.
