Search the web for a florist near Caledon Ontario to deliver flowers to my mother on Mother’s Day. I ran into a site that provided such a service and called in. The initial site is http://www.webfloristsnetwork.com. Called their 800 number and placed an order. The order was a featured product called The FTD® Loving Thoughts® Bouquet. The flowers was to be delivered on the Saturday (instead of Sunday) to avoid the usual complications for the special Holliday.
I explained that I'm calling from Miami, Florida and I will not be able to be in contact with my mother on that day due to work and it was imperative that it get done. "No problem" was their reply. Although there was a credit card issue initially, payment was made and confirmed with my AMEX.
Monday after mother’s day I called my parents and to my surprise she did not receive the flowers. I was embarrassed, and not to mention confused as to why. I called once I hung up with my mother and called the florist. They confirmed my order, and asked if they could return the call while they research as to what happened.
About 10 minutes later the call came. The excuse was a computer glitch that never was delivered to the local florist. I asked if there was any follow-up, any confirmation, any something that could have been prevented and they admittedly said it was their fault. I was truly disappointed with the service. Their solutions were resending the flowers; or, refund the charge. I asked how about both. I Did not get a good reply back. The truth of the matter is that there was no concern, not remorse, no sensitivity over their mess up. They look at it as a lost sale, I look at it as a son who did what every son should do on this day and was let down by incompetency.
