These people are a nightmare. They totally scammed my elderly parents, who hired them to move their stuff out of their home to my home. My parents originally hired Sunstate Movers, who portrayed themselves as a fullservice moving company. They came with a Sunstate labelled van and took the furniture. When the stuff finally showed up -- days late -- it was in a van labelled Mega Movers. They charged us extra because they didn't want to pull their van up our driveway because they were loaded so heavily with many so other people's things that they were afraid the thing would tip over if they went onto the shoulder of the road. They weren't kidding, as we found out when they finally unloaded the furniture: every item was damaged and about half of them were pretty near totally destroyed. I've never seen anything like it. I can't even imagine what they DID to the stuff. Dropped it out of buildings?? Two sofas and two chairs were shipped -- all four had their frames completely crushed by having had other furniture piled on top of them. A table arrived with two legs literally BROKEN off. One of the sofas was mysteriously missing all its cushions(?!!) Almost everything else had numerous dents and scratches and scrapes. The guys who delivered it told us all this wasn't their fault because they were contractors for "Mega Movers" -- a completely separate company from "Sunstate." But in fact they appear to be the same company and appear to have pulled this trick with other people whose furniture they've trashed. They must be so used to dealing with angry customers that they have a well-practiced shtick for being able to sneak out the door without getting blamed for it. They told us to make an insurance claim -- but when we spoke to my parents it turned out that the insurance "policy" on the move was ridiculous, with a dollar per pound limit that wouldn't repay anything except yard sale junk. Awful! I hope other people considering this company read the numerous online warnings first. And I feel awful that my parents got so badly scammed by these clowns. Please don't ship ANYTHING with either Sunstate or Mega Movers. You'd be better off holding a yard sale -- at least that way your stuff would be going to somone who will use it, rather than being destroyed by these crooks!

Costly mistake havent gone through this reviews before.

Horrible intially total binding quote is 975..no hidden charges nothing I asked several times, after loading..it became 2044$ horrible cheating I could not able to digest that. Quarreled like anything final thing if I get it down back..they are asking to pay 1000$..Now you cannot reach to the actual guy "Baron" Customer representative..he will on leave now..all planned..there will be one guy from dispatch section "Mike.." he cant do anything except billing you and cutting jokes. ended up paying the amout which they said..atleast you people be alert with these kind of movers company..joke is only one person came from the actual company..and he picked 3 local mexicon people for 40$ each..infront of me..to load..same goes for downloading..thats it.so unprofessional. this is the tricks of their business..very bad costly experience.

As with most of the other complaints, I had similar problems. Cost was much more than original "binding" quote. They showed up hours after the agreed pick up time. Also, they did not deliver on the scheduled day, even though they verbally agreed to it several times before they left with my belongings. READ THE FINE PRINT!! They do NOT guarantee anything, including on-time delivery. I am still waiting for my belongings and no one is telling me when they will deliver it. Every time I call to get an update, or complain, I am put on hold for upwards of 15 minutes. Today when I spoke with a representative I told her I deserve an apology for all of the grief and extra costs this has turned into, and her response was "I don't owe you an apology, I didn't do anything to you." Some professional customer service would be the least they could offer, her behavior was appalling! I could visualize her sitting there picking her fingernails and snickering!
Mega Movers are only professional and "nice" until they get you to sign the "binding" contract, " which binds you, but not them. Then they overcharge you and disappear with everything. I trusted these people and they have completely screwed my family. We had to go buy house ware items and clothing because they have all of our belongings. Don't believe a word that comes out of any of their mouths! Read everything before you sign!!
