customer deservice
I have been mistreated by MegaBus customer service. Their service is notorious. On top of that, they wasted my time.
I waited for 1.5 hours at the south station in Boston to catch the bus to NYC. There was no megabus agent at the gate to ask any questions. I called the company to reschedule, but they told me to go to the ticketing counter, so I left the line to rebook my trip. Ticket counter was closed.
So I went home and call the customer service again, and waited for 30 min to speak to someone. Finally, a woman answered, and I asked her to rebook my ticket, but she refused to do, and she hang up on me. I called them again, and waited another 30 min, but nobody picked up the phone.
If they list the number as "customer service" phone number, they should provide service, instead of hanging up the phone. It is unacceptable and the most unprofessional service I have ever received. First of all, if the passengers are still waiting for the bus, the ticket counter should be open for service, or at least the gate agent should be present at all time. Second of all, NO customer service should hang up on customer. NO business should continue to operate with this kind of service.

Cancelled and didn't refund
After arriving in Buffalo on a red-eye flight at the end of February (read: WINTER(, I waiting for a 5 a.m. Megabus pickup that never came. Three hours after the scheduled departure, I received an email to tell me that the bus route was cancelled for the day. Of course, they already knew this the night before because the bus never left NYC the previous night because of bad weather. No notification was posted on their site, and no one was available until 9 a.m. to provide information either. I ended up taking a local bus to downtown Buffalo and then catching the next Greyhound--something that I could have done 4 hours earlier had I received notification that the bus I was waiting for wasn't coming. Now, to top it all off, after two months of calling and emailing, I still have not had a refund for this trip issued to my credit card. What is wrong with these people?

Somebody took my suitcase on the stop of the bus
Hello everyone
My name is Leilla Pires de Araujo Silva and I was in the MEGABUS from New York to Washington DC in february 8, 2010, 9:30 a.m. was the time of departure. Somebody took my baggage when the bus stopped in Baltimore, because when I arrived in Washingotn DC was left a black suitcase like mine.
I already call to megabus many times, send a lot of e-mail to them. A woman call Sonia from the inquiries answered me and told to wait that them would look for my bag, but the last in the last e-mail, she was telling that she couldn't help and taht she would reply my e-mails to someone that would help me better...but this has been more than 15 days ago.
I'm not from the USA, I'm from BRAZIL and I bought a lot things that I don't hae in my country and everything was in that suitcase.
I don't know what to do...I just want my money back or my suitcase perhaps.
I TRUSTED MEGABUS, BUT THEM SUCKS

No Customer Service
Do not use Megabus, unless your willing to throw money to the wind. A non- customer, non-friendly company..if you need to make any changes they are not helpfull in the least, and are basically thieves. I used them when they where cheap even thought the rides would be about 50% late and not that comfortable. And would still used them for the comfortability factor but after being misled I'm now out $125. I have never dealt with such a non customer service company..seriously do some research before you book with them.

Never again
I booked Megabus tickets for my daughter and her friend to attend a university open day in Leeds (travelling from London, Victoria Coach Station)and paid £24.50 including the booking fee. I had to change the date the next day and was told by their customeer helpline that I would be charged £1 per ticket amendment fee. I went through their re-booking process and noticed I was being charged £22 for the journey. I called the helpline again and they said it was probably a glitch and I could claim a refund by emailing them, so I completed the transaction. Emailed them same day and received a reply saying my original booking had been credited against my 'new' booking but as the 'new' booking was less expensive I would get no refund. I have now paid double the price for one return journey and they are refusing to issue a £22 refund. I have lodged a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading about Megabuses' unfair practices, but if this is how they treat customers I'd advise against having anything to do with them. My daughter said the trip was a nightmare anyway. Took ages top get the outbound coach to start, the toilet was out of action and the driver on the return trip was offensive and refused to let her eat a meal she had grabbed during a 5 minute break at a service station on the coach even though there was no time to eat it during the 5 minute stop-over. I'll never use them again.

Lost my luggage
The megabus company lost my luggage, containing my laptop, clothes, shoes and a text book which I burrowed from the library. As a full time student with little money, you can imagine how devastating it is to loose my laptop, in addition I now have to reimburse the library for their textbook which is over $80.
I had to call their customer service 6 times in one day just to get help, since I was put into voicemail a couple of times and left on perpetual hold on others an hang up on on others. In the end I was told that they checked and my bag was not on the bus so there was nothing they could do. When I asked if I could check it myself I was told that the bus was in the shop and there did not know when it would come out. This bus company is really horrible, this is my second unpleasant encounter with them. How am a supposed to function without my laptop or books!!! DON'T USE THEM!!!

Discrimination
I had a 5:30 pm reservation for a New York-to-Boston bus trip on Friday (August 1, 2008). I arrived at the Megabus' stop at 4:30 pm. There was a bus waiting and there were seats still available. Therefore, I asked the supervisor if I could take the 4:30 bus and he did not allow. A couple of minutes later, a girl arrived at the bus stop with a 6:30 pm reservation. She asked the same supervisor to take the 4:30 bus and he allowed her without additional fees. I asked the supervisor again if I could take the 4:30 bus. He, again, did not allow me and suggested me to pay $45 if I still wanted to take the 4:30 bus. I then asked him the reason that he allowed the girl to take it and he said "she's going to love me forever". I felt discriminated and did not feel safe using the company's service with such discriminatory treatment. I decided to leave and did not use the service at all.
