We purchased Meindle walking shoes due to their reputation as a quality and reliable product. After 5 years - very little use - we went walking through the mountins of Pyrenees and after two Kms the shoes stated falling apart. First the left shoe and within 1 kilometer the second shoe. The soles had disintergrated and after 5 kilometers I found myself walking barefoot on socks.
Now probelems can occur but this was a very unopportune moment and it cost us (with other walkers ) three hours to get back to base in the meantime using other methodes to spare my feet (double socks, grass etc)
Afetr arriving back home I sent the shoes to Meindle with photos etc and explaining my frustrations.
First letter sent 11 aug 2010 second letter beginnign Dec 2010. Wait for it... NO REACTION AT ALL!
This is not the way I wish to be handled after buying a quality product.
The shoes had been kept in a dry and warm atmosphere (in house) so no reason for deteriation, but what is really frustrating is the total lack of reponse ( letter was sent to the director at the headquartersin Germany.
I advise everyone to think twice before spending good money on this product
