My complaint is about the purchase of some equipment from the Melbourne Bicycle Centre in Clifton Hill, Australia . Over three months ago (on 10.4.0) I ordered a Surly LHT bicycle & a bracket kit for the Shimano wireless bike computer that I already own & use on another bike. The bike was ready the following week but, THREE MONTHS later, despite repeated emails, telephone calls, personal appearances & even a letter, I still don't have the bracket kit I paid for. Shimano tell me that there is no problem at their end and that the item has been in stock throughout all of 2008. Yesterday, an envelope arrived in the post from the Melbourne Bicycle Centre containing some parts and a very ungracious note saying "I think we gave you a pretty good deal" ... suggesting that they thought I had been treated well (and also, by implication, that I would have to fit the kit myself). It is hard to see how a three months' wait is "a pretty good deal".
And the unhappy punchline: they sent me the wrong part! You can follow the whole miserable and yet unresolved saga at my blog at: www.dragon-on.blogspot
