Worst Nightmare at Merles Restaurant in Littleton Colorado
We just had WORST dining experience I have ever had at a restaurant here in Denver Colorado. Since the mid 1990s our Colorado Company has conducted business dinners with Clients about once a week and I have to say we have never has such a bad experience as the one we just had at Merles Littleton restaurant.
I really hope this experience does not cost us out best Client that has been with us for over 12 years. It really was that bad.

We decided to meet with our Client for dinner and try Merles restaurant in Littleton, Colorado. The staff seated at a very small table, as this was the only one available - except for the bar. Our server arrived and took our drink and appetizer order. She returned with our drinks and then asked us what we would like for our entree. We ordered our entrees. Within a few minutes one of the wait staff appeared with our entrees, NOT our appetizer! We politely asked if that could bring our appetizer first and then bring our entrees when we were finished with the appetizer.

The food server left and asked the main waitress (that took our order) to come to our table and we told her what happened and asked if she could check on the appetizer. She looked very puzzled about what they did and she replied that she would go check on appetizer. Within a few minutes the main waitress returned with the appetizer. Only 5-7 minutes later (we were not even half way into the appetizer) when another new food server (the 3rd one) tried to deliver our entrees a second time. Note that the table was very small and could only hold our appetizer and our drinks! We asked the waitress to return the food to the kitchen as there was not enough room on the table and if she could return with the entrée when we had finished our appetizer.

A few minutes had passed and very young man identifying himself as the manager came to our table and told us that we had he was aware that we sent our entrees back to the kitchen two times and then said that is going to comp the bill for the appetizer and two drinks and then he ordered us to immediately leave the restaurant! I first asked him if he was serious as I thought this was a prank but he said no and again insisted that we leave. We got up in shock over his request and calmly left the restaurant.

Once outside a man who said he was the owner of Merles followed us and told us he was the one that asked manager to tell us to leave because he did not like the way we treated his staff! WHAT??? We calmly explained what happened. His replied to us stating that he was doing so well (even in this economy) that he did not need customers like us! WHAT??? What did we do???

Needless to say our company was very embarrassed by what Merles did to us and later on our Client expressed their extreme dissatisfaction with the situation.

This was out best Client. I hope we do not lose any business over what Merle's staff and owner did to us.

This is truly the WORST dining experience we have ever had at a restaurant here in Denver Colorado. What a Nightmare!!!
