Pre-Paid Rip Off
I would strongly advise against purchasing pre-paid cards issued by this institution. I purchased a pre-paid debit card. And while using the card for an online purchase, I typed in the wrong address and submitted the charge for payment. After the payment was declined, I re-entered the correct information. The payment was then accepted, but Metabank placed a 3-day hold the card for funds equal to the amount of the original purchase. So, essentially, the card was charged twice for the same transaction. I called the merchant, who then told me they would request that the hold be lifted over a 3-way call with the bank. We placed a 3-way call to Metabank, but Metabank refused to lift the hold on the funds - despite the fact that the merchant verified that the second charge to the card was invalid. This service *** hard, and I would strongly advise against purchasing their pre-paid products!

Stay away
I purchased this prepaid debit card, placing $200 on it June 2010. Everything went fine for a few weeks - my transactions went through, until one day I tried to purchase something on it. MetaBank had placed a hold on my account. When I called them, they said that needed further information from me. They could give me no reason, and said they didn't even know WHY, but they needed me to fax them 2 forms of ID, which I did. The next day, I called them. They said my ID wasn't good enough, my California driver's license good thru 2014, and my government issued Social Security Card. I said okay, what else could you possibly need?! They wanted a copy of my lease agreement, which I sent to them. Again, next day, I called. It wasn't good enough. They wanted it notarized (which costs $15 in my state). I talked to a supervisor who said my IDs would be good enough and that the hold would be removed within 24 hours.
That was almost 2 months ago. MetaBank, aka everywherepay.com will not remove the hold on my card which has a balance of about $50.
I don't know where to turn. This is the most ridiculous situation I have encountered on my OWN money!
STAY AWAY FROM METABANK or everywherepay.com. They are obviously running some type of scam.

iadvance loan
on oct 13th metabank supposely stopped there iadvance and supposely gave notice but the notice of termination was only visible if you log in your account. So me being that i dont log in that often to check my account only when my funds are available didnt know that this was happening so when i checked my funds i saw that my loan was paid but i wasnt able to take another one out cause iadvance was terminated. so that day i got screwed in paing all my bills and still trying to catch up. i dont believe its all metabanks fault but they should have either called all there customers or sent and email or a letter in advance of termination of iadvance thats all. now i just be more careful with these prepaid cards.

Iadvance credit
I had a iadvance loan and it was due october 14th. I had an ealy payday and got payed on the 13th. When I logged on to myiadvance to take another loan to get bye I saw the notice from metabank. Stating due to the Office of Thrift Supervision had instructed them to stop on the 13th with no warning. I dont think it was fair to not have given me fair warning that the loan process was going away. Something needs to be done to financial instatutions that with no warning pull your line of credit.
