Metro Financial Solutions Reviews

samidean April 2, 2011
Fraud business
I saw this company on a job site for a job as an Internet Administrative Assistant for the company. I checked out their web site before sending them my resume, and it looks professional enough, and clearly listed the requirements need for the job, the pay, and what the job entailed. I sent them my resume, and as it was posted heard back within 24 hours, via email, from a person in their HR department. I was asked a few more general questions about my availability, and was told that I would be contacted that afternoon by a Mr. Robert Eriksson for a phone interview, and given his phone number, 909-764-0969 and told that if I missed his call to call him back ASAP

When he called me, he sounded professional, and told me that their company was a brokerage firm, and that I would be working with some clients as well as doing administrative duties for the company, and told me that I would get insurance, and a free E-trade account, and that I would be paid a base pay plus commission for my work with clients. He asked me a few questions about my previous work, and asked if I had any disabilities that they needed to let the insurance company know about. He told me that they would do a criminal background check and then get back to me, and if they found nothing in that check I would be hired. I have absolutely nothing in a criminal background check, other than one traffic ticket when I was 16, so I knew there was no problem there.

I have not heard anything from them in a week, and when I try reaching Mr. Eriksson at the number he called me from, all I get is his voice mail saying he is away from his desk, and that if I leave my name and number he will get back to me, which he has not done in several days after calling him twice. I also called the number listed as the business number on their contact page, and got again voice mail with his voice saying they are unavailable, and will call me back. I have tried to search the SEC, the State of California, and the IRS trying to get any information on this company, as I began to suspect that something was up, and none of those entities have ANY information on any business by that name even existing, which makes absolutely no sense if they are a brokerage firm.

All they have is my name, and my phone number and address, so they have no financial information on me, but I am still afraid that this is some kind of scam. If anyone else has any information on this company, or has had any dealings with them, I would appreciate knowing about it, as if this is a scam being run by this Mr. Eriksson, who has a very strong Australian accent, then I hardly doubt that I will be the only person he tries to scam in the future. I also paid Intelius to do a check on who owns the two numbers i have listed above, and as I have used them before, they usually have a reply almost instantly, but in this case told me that they needed to do a further search in their data base, and would email me within 24-72 hours with what they have come up with, which also sends up red flags to me.
