I sent in a laptop that wasn't working properly, and I had a Buy.com extended warranty. The laptop was sent to Micromedics. They fixed one major problem, but they DROPPED the laptop and sent it back to me with a chunk of one corner of the case missing. Of course I never thought to document the condition of the outside when I mailed it in. IF YOU SEND ANYTHING TO THEM, BE SURE TO PHOTOGRAPH IT!
Also, after it wasn't repaired the first time, I called Buy.com to let them know. They said they were mailing me another box & label. 3 weeks later, I called in to see why I hadn't received it. They claimed I never called! Of course they did... I was a few weeks from the expiration of the warranty at that point.
I insisted on another box, and did receive it. But I mailed in the laptop again, and Micromedics kept it for 3 weeks, then sent it back saying they couldn't duplicate the problem. Funny, because anyone who has ever touched my laptop has complained about it within 10 seconds! Now my warranty has ended, and Micromedics and Buy.com has scammed yet another consumer.
