Overcharged
When is enough enough? I am so tired of agencies like this one collecting money that has been paid months ago. My account has been tapped into and now trying to get this money back will be a task in itself. With all that is going on; these people continue to attack and take from those that are just merely making it. I want a resolution... we as people of this so called great country need to stop these certain individuals collecting doubled charges just so they can make a high profit on those who have fallen on hard times.

Unauthorized charges
Midland keep harassing me about a 6 years old fraudulent charge on my account it happened when I was overseas for 10 month, I have a police report and passport proof, they kept threatening and harassing me even after I sent them all the proofs, Are we the consumers protected against companies like Midland? their answer is: it is on your social security number so it is your debt and you must pay it, they keep selling the account to new agencies and after sending all the proofs again, it seems like the new agencies send my account back to midland... to sell again or to keep reporting it, they took it way personal with me (or at least that's how I feel), and it shouldn't be this way.

Why should I pay what I don't owe and why it is so hard to comprehend it?

Awful customer service
Midland credit management entered inton an arrangement with me on the phone for payments. I missed one payment as my husband went to the ER and I had a co payment. They called my to discuss and we did so. The account manager on my case said no problem. The very next day she called to ask again about the payment. I told her we just talked about this issue. I then ask if they read the notes prior to calling people. She became very defensive and threaten to call my amount due immed. I asked for her supervisor and got nothing.

I asked for corporate offices and was told that would not happen. I sent a complaint to the FCC.

Awful experience
In early Sept.2008, I received a summons representing Midland. I contacted the attorney and obtained the original creditor. I advised the attorney that I had sent several letters to Midland attempting to obtain that same info to no avail. Midland never responded to any request. To make a long story short; I ended up making a payment arrangement thru the attorney in order to not have to fight in court.

It appears that Midland does this routinely, using attorneys specializing in these tactics. (basically ambulance chasers!)

A class action suit against Midland should be considered. I would be happy to join.

Terrible service
Called to inquire about an account on my credit report, A indian guy, thick accent, who name is "andrew Williams" (yeah right!) was the rudest person i ever talked to in a customer service position. He yelled at me talked down to me, then hung up on me. I asked for a supervisor, he gave me a non-working 800 number. This company is unbelievable. They need to be investigated. I filed a dispute with the credit agencies. So frustrating. I cant believe they operate a business this way. They are supposedly based in san diego. He sounded from overseas.

Unsolicited phone calls
This company uses harassment techniques by constantly calling you sometimes up to 10 calls per day. They called and harass me by calling me constantly-sometimes up to 5-10 calls per day. They call me morning, noon and night-on the weekends, late at night. it is almost as though they have an automatic dial system that constantly calls you until they reach you.

This morning they called me at work and I have specifically asked them not to. I am afraid I may lose my job. I plan on registering a complaint with consumer complaints and the BBB.

Joke
I am pissed because I got a letter saying I needed to call the office before the 18th of Sept and it said I could make affordable payments and the only thing offered to me was 254.00 in two days!! So the letter I got from them is a joke they are not willing to work with you to resolve your issue!!! They can eat ***!!! Then they told me my account will be sent to a lawyer so I don't have any choice but to let it go!!! I asked for help and got none from this company they are a crock of ***!!!

Harassing calls
This company called everyday in August 08 & left hang-ups; when I finally spoke with an Oscar Tiyrs he wouldn't answer my question about how he obtained my number, instead telling me to pay my bills if I didn't want to receive calls, and eventually accused ME of harassing HIM. Another, Laurie Brazier snootily asked if I would be resolving my debt with her company. Uncompassionate and hostile, Midland Credit Management is one of the worst creditors out there - I had no debt with them, and to be judged and scolded by scum such as they don’t make living in dire financial straits any easier.

Beware
I am in the process of buying a house. I was informed that I had an account with Midland Credit Management on my credit report. I paid off my account with Midland Credit Management. I had to call three weeks in a row to get a letter from them stating it was paid off. Now, I get an e-mail stating my credit report was changed. So I log on. Guess what...Midland Credit Management is reporting that my account is still in collections as of August 30th. It was paid at the beginning of August. Who do I call to sue this mother ***?

Claims they do not have to validate
I checked my credit reports and seen MCM and Original Creditor SBC-AMeritech $156.72 from Nov 2002. I sent them a "validation letter" as I don't think I even had a phone at that time so this can't be mine.I also disputed with Credit Bureaus. All this done in April 2008. MCM sent me a letter asking me for any documentation that I may have and that they have written "Disputed" on my credit report. May 2008 MCM sends me a bill with options on how to pay. Still no Original bill or validation that this is even MY debt. The Credit Bureaus claim that they have "verified" this debt. How they did this I have NO idea? I have asked for "reinvestigation" and Trans Union took 1 day .not even it was Overnight... . and said it was "verified".
I even tried to call SBC-Ameritech awhich is now ATT and they couldn't help me as they have no information about this so called debt as it is too old.
Yesterday August 19, MCM called me and was very rude and told me that they were the "original creditors" that they don't have to validate as they own this debt and that they are going to pursue this further. I know that the SOL has expired so they cant sue me as it is 6 years in Michigan. I am so frustrated with these people. My wife and I are trying to buy a house and this is one of the things that need to be taken care of before we can. I just don't want to have to pay for something that I believe isn't mine.
All I want is an "original bill" stating that I owe this.. not some bill from MCM.
