I met Mike Noble (real name - Michael Anthony Wells) my one of my local Mercedes Benz Dealerships. He informed me that he was the guy leasing the Mercedes S550 from Mr. Ed Cain (follow this link for background story). Well dressed and well spoken, he explained how he had paid about $10, 000.00 to begin leasing the vehicle and wanted to meet me face to face to ensure that I was a real person. He also detailed how he was approached about leasing the car.
I explained my side of the story and we began to connect the dots. Mike assured me that he understood my position and how naïve I was to get involved with these guys. He also said he intended to make the payments on the vehicle and we signed a leased that he produced, since he had not signed a lease with Mr. Ed Cain. I know why he wanted to deal with me, because he knew I was naïve and a pigeon ready to be plucked.
First, there was the problem with the vehicle and the fact I needed to rent him a car. Next, there was the problem with him getting insurance on the car. Then there was the problem with him making the payments. He did offer to just return the car to me and sign an affidavit acknowledging how much money he owed me, but I was just trying to protect my credit and didn’t want a voluntary repo showing up. (Note: On hindsight, I should’ve taken the car and returned it immediately.) So I allowed him to continue to drive the car and he finally made 1 payment. And that was that, he disappeared with the car.
After about 2 months, I got a call from Mike saying that someone else had the car because he sold it. I couldn’t believe it. I was upset, but more importantly wanted the car back so I could return it to the finance company. I spoke to the guys he sold the car, but they didn’t believe I existed and later said they sold the car to someone else.
Eventually, I tracked the car down to some guy in New York. Somehow these guys had connections with my state’s DMV and got a new “clean” title for the car, and had me sell the car to this new guy. During all of this, I did establish a relationship with the finance company and explained the situation. They were very helpful and used my info about the guy in New York to track the car down. They finally repossessed the car in New York
The bottom line: I would not do business with Mike Nobel aka Michael Anthony Wells. I had a company investigate this guy during the months I couldn’t find him. They couldn’t even give me a current address on the guy.
