Term and agreements
Wow, godaddy has really screwed us over this time. We have our site hosted and domain name with godaddy. Our main site has been live for 11 months with no issues (besides the same old customer support lack of help). Today they decided to suspend our account because they THINK we sell email address.. Of course we do not sell any email address or provide anyone outside of our company email addresses or contact information. All our site page states is Follow Up Email Marketing in which determines that we build websites for clients and we setup email templates for our clients so they may email there EXISTING clients with newsletters or information (opt-in compliance)they have requested. We do not do any sort of emailing from our company (besides our regular email) for any of our clients. (Which it shows in our godaddy email accounts that there are only a few emails sent a day and a few received for each email address.

Here is there side:
We run a script and it shows you have created many email accounts and it raised a red flag (we have 45 email address, which 42 are employees and 3 are for contact us pages).

They suspended the domain instantly, THEN emailed and called to tell us that your email has been suspended instantly. WOW, no notice, no questions asked, no nothing. But when they want there money for hosting, domains or any other garbage they have, they send 10 emails.

Here the message left: Mr. *** your domain has been suspended. Call our abuse department to discuss your options. Of course got phone call and called within 2 min's. But it was already suspended. After 1/2 hour on the phone we have to email them and ask why our domain was suspended (ask superviser to email me information, but couldn’t had to email them first).

This is a big power driven joke. Who gives them the right to take down a site without any notice whatsoever. Of course the guidlines state they can suspend a domain/site if THEY think its in violation. The proper business ethic to follow would be to send a email or make a free phone call to advise or question the client.

We have no issue with them thinking we provide email addresses, or suspending an account BUT contact us first and give us a little notice. Even 1 hour notice so my in-house development team can comply to there demands... What a joke. There’s thousands of illegal, spamming, crook websites on godaddy's servers and they take down a legal business that has been conducting business for 6 years. Wow.

For Godaddy: As a suggestion (as you already know your company has the most complaints with icann and bbb) it would be a wise business decision to re-work your notification and action methods. If you think there is an issue or a policy of your that is being neglected, give 24hr notice to client before taking down there business. We spend about $800 a day with adwords (google, yahoo, bing) and now that you have INSTANLY taking our site down money is flowing out of the window. I have been a customer of yours for 7 years and now must move onto a better organized registrar. You may offer cheap domains and hosting, but I had to learn the hard way; you get what you pay for in this life. Keep pushing your cheap service and you will see that you will either loose customers at a pace that is unsustainable or a class action lawsuit for the bad business practices that you portrait. We all know that you are a large (or the largest) domain registrar but the way you conduct business is not proper. Take some of that money that you make an invest into a review board or policy and procedure review. It would save you in the long run.

All the best to the people that have godaddy and continue to use them. I will eventually see your post.

For me it has been an ok 7 years (besides the no support for issues) but you have crossed the line by taking my hard earned business down without notice. Thanks for making us loose some money and waist my time by writing this and sitting on the phone. Merry Christmas to you too. Hope your holiday party will be good this year ( i won't attend this year) Enjoy it with my money!

Leaving Godaddy For Good,
Daniel
