NOT SAME COMPANY AS MR.TRANSMISSION
FYI, , , , Mister Transmission is all Canadian and in no way affliated with Mr. Transmission which is solely a U.S company, , , I am a technician that has been around for 25+ years and worked at Ammco and many other transmission shops, and Mister Transmission is by far the BEST. Hands Down !!!

Beware consumers
I took my 2002 Ford F-350 in because I was having problems with it, when i found out what was wrong I told them to drop in a new ford tranny, Wally told me he would rebuild it with heavy duty parts and he would give me a 40km warranty. Within a week the reverse went and they repaired that saying the OD plates were gone and a pressure valve wasn't working right. At approx 35k the tranny went out. New owner won't warranty because I put a chip in it "What" the hay the chip was in it when we went there for the first tranny because I re-set it to factory so he could check the electronics, but now he doesn't own it and can't "remember" me having a chip. What a run around I will be putting a consumer beware ad in the news paper, they can't sue you for the truth. CONSUMER BEWARE MISTER TRANSMISSION IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CAR TRUCK SUV OR SCOOTER CAUSE THEY WILL *** AND THE JOB WILL BE SCREWED UP!!!

Unprofessional and dangerous
I took my vehicle to the local dealership with an intermittent reverse problem. It was tested there for a full day and they ran all the necessary tests, all of which came back with everything working correctly, including oil and fluids being clear, electronics, etc. and that all gears were working including reverse. The next morning however when it was tested again and there was no reverse and they suggested that there could be a glitch in the hydraulic system and that, in order to locate the problem, the transmission would have to be opened up. They did not have a technician available at that time and my car was driven over to Mister Transmission. After the transmission was opened up, we were shown parts that apparently came out of my and included a totally blown up gear system and an overheated and totally burned out transmission. As the car was needed, the work was authorized (if you had the same experience you know what I mean).

My car was supposedly fixed and within a short period of time, I heard heavy hammering and growling noises and my engineer light came on. Needless to say, this scared me quite and bit and I took the car back to Mister Transmission in North Bay as I believed it to be a transmission problem. The car was taken on a road test and I was told that there was nothing wrong, they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. A second road test, forced on them by us, resulted with the noises happening immediately. After a cursory look and knocking off the engineer light with a testing device, the manager told me that I had a bad right front wheel bearing. He also told me that his staff was not licensed to work on that part of the vehicle. Being dismissed out of hand, with no consideration for my safety, I had no choice but to take my car back to the dealership.

The dealership was extremely accommodating and helpful and agreed to check my car out immediately. As I believed that the right front bearing needed to be replaced the work was authorized. Within half an hour the car was fixed and lo and behold the bearing was fine - the only problem and work that had to be done was to re-torque the 2 front wheel bearings to factory specifications. I was told that both of the front wheel bearings were loose and that on the right front I had over 1/2" play. The bill from the dealer was a whopping $50, which Mister Transmission North Bay refuses to compensate me for, after I paid over $3, 000 for my "so-called" transmission overhaul. I'm still not sure what the engineer light - which came back on right after leaving his shop - is going to cost at the dealer.

I contacted Mister Transmission North Bay about this and was summarily brushed off with the arrogant statement that "my people don't work on that part of the car - we didn't touch it". I talked to a licensed technician about this and was told that it is very difficult to take a transmission out of my car (a front wheel drive) without dismantling the front axle. The owner sent off a communication to the regional customer service department of Mister Transmission in which he spent the entire time saying what a great person he was - how honest and hardworking - and that he "might have helped me out if we hadn't been rude customers". This person has the nerve to use the customer service department to cover his incompetence. Rude?? - This is the individual who had not only released my vehicle twice in a dangerous and unsafe condition. He put my life at risk as well as any unfortunate driver having the bad luck to be near me when my front axles flew off, in a deadly situation as well.

I still don't understand how I ended up with a totally burned out transmission. It seems to me that if that was the case, then the transmission oil should have been burned as well - and it wasn't.

My only comment is - CUSTOMER BEWARE - because it seems to me that at Mister Transmission North Bay - the customer is always wrong (after paying). If you value your life, shop around for a safer repair shop.
