Dear Sir,
I purchased goods worth Rs. 3500/- approximately from Reliance super store in Ludhiana, Punjab in September, 2009 and was told by the store staff that I have qualified for a gift scheme by the store wherein I was entitled to get a set of six beautiful glasses and a set of Karahis (wok). They further told me to collect the same in November, 2009.
When I went to collect the gifts on 9th Dec. 2009, I was told that did not qualify for the set of glasses but I can take the set of Karahis. I was dissappointed but agreed to take the karahis.
My surprise turned to shock when I was told that I had to pay a sum of Rs. 149/- if I wanted the Karahis. According to the store staff I was getting the karahis at a discount which was the actual gift that I had won.
In utter anger I declined to take the karahis.
When has this system started that you cheat the customer by first announcing a gift on his purchases and then demand money for the same?
Can i sue the company under M.R.T.P. act?
This has become a habit with this company. Shame on you Reliance.
