I ordered my one FREE CREDIT REPORT from Credit Report.com as stated by U.S. law and was charged 11.95 by this company for enrollment into their credit monitoring service. I have a print out of my credit report and nowhere on it is there ANY NOTIFICATION that I was enrolling myself in a service.
Carla, the operator at CreditReport.com to whom I spoke when I tried to get an explanation, was rude and contemptuous. She kept repeating over and over that by getting the credit report from them I was agreeing to enroll and would not let me speak at all once I had the enrollment cancelled. I am speaking to my bank shortly to try and have this charge removed but have little hope.
I am forwarding a copy of this communication to the Missouri Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureaus in Missouri and California.
