Good product selection but EXTREMELY poor customer service / support.
My mobile home door was kicked in by a vandal while I was out of town. I am on the road most days of the week. The door hinges were bent and new ones were needed. I ordered them on-line and incorrectly asked for "two day" shipping when "next day" was required to get the hinges to me on a day I would be able to do the repair.
The order was placed after hours so I called them at 8:30am CST the next morning. I thought it would be a simple matter to change the shipping method to "next day". Boy, was I wrong.
Seems that the owner is the only one that can "run" a credit card for payment and he/she only does this once a day. Since it had already been done for the day, my order could not be changed because the additional shipping charge could not be billed.
They offered to cancel the order saying I could then re-enter my order on-line with next day shipping and the credit card could be billed by the computer at that time. I explained that I would not have access to the internet until that night and it would again be too late to have the order shipped in time for me to do the repair.
I asked if they would please make an exception. The answer was "no". I asked to speak to the owner since he/she was the only person that could "run" the card. The answer was "no". I asked "why?" The response was: " If you called Amazon.com and asked to speak to the owner would I really expect to talk to the owner". I can only say that Amazon took care of a similar issue and they were glad to do it since the product had not shipped. There was no need to talk to the owner of Amazon.com since they took care of their customers.
On my day off, today, I made the drive to a supplier that had the hinges 45 miles away and have taken care of the door. When I return to my home in three days I will take the package from "Mobile Home Parts Store" and place it on my book shelf as a reminder to check out a company before ordering from them and to double check the shipping method I select when I order after hours on-line.
Not to my surprise, when I searched the web for reviews of “Mobile Home Parts Store” there were similar complaints about customer service.
