I had a purchase at Moda River Edge 1001 Main Street on around 9/2/2006 with my invoice #138704. I paid total $3209.06 which included a sofa set, dining table with 4 sides chairs and coffee table. The order was getting delayed again and again. When it finally arrived after a few times of delays, there were two items missing which were the coffee table and dinning table with chairs.. I contacted the store right away but they had no idea why. I went to the store and talked to the customer service Manager Mandoli. She said she would try to deliver them to me. However, she said the furniture she'll deliver to me are store samples, which is absolutely rediculous. When I asked her why, she showed me the original invoice which was joggled to make the two missing items delivered as samples, but on my customer copy of the invoice, it didn't indicate anyway that I'll get store samples, nor told by the sales person A.K.. I'm very pissed of by the tampering of the invoice and agreement between the store and customer. I then requested the cancellation for it's so absurd that I even want to sue the store. They asked me for 20% cancellation fee. Even that they didn't give me clear answer when the cancellation can be done. I have to say it's not my fault to cancell the item, it's all because the store keeps delaying the delivery and messed up everything and even illegally joggled the invoice, which the store didn't let the customer know. It's cheating. I requested they take this into consideration and waive the cacellation fee, but they still charged me 20% so called cancellation fee and lied that they did me a favor already by reduce the cancellation fee from 30% to 20%, but the cancellatio policy on the invoice says clearly it's 20%. Plus, their customer service manager also admitted they didn't even try to start preparing the items for delivery, which resulted in the order to be delayed and delayed. So "Cancellation Fee" in this matter doesn't make any sense at all. I just don't have any time to argue with these dishonest people. I finally gave up just pay them 20%. I wouldn't recommend anybody buy furniture from modafurniture. Type modafurniture in google, you'll easily find a lot of complaints and unpleasant experience from people who did business with Moda. This is my 1st time to do business with ModaFurniture, and I'm sure that's the end in the rest of my life. I strongly requested this business be strictly investigated.
