Beware of the Modeling Association of America also known as the MAAI. The MAAI has arrangements with numerous model and talent schools to refer students that are willing to pay big bucks to enter pseudo modeling contests. The MAAI holds their own modeling contest in NY & LA, mainly to justify charging $5000 to $25000 and up to the parents of children that are hoping to get their child into show business. The MAAI pays several unknown and small time managers to attend their contest and supposedly scout the participants. In reality, most participants never get any work through these MAAI contests. In the past the MAAI directors have invited known pornographers to attend their contests and interview the participants. At a recent MAAI convention held at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Manhattan, one prolific adult film pornographer by the name of Stuart Young, owner of Shadowplay Studios, was invited by MAAI director, Jann Seale, to interview young children ages 5 to 19. A well known NYC attorney by the name of William Unroch had to threaten Seale and the MAAI with legal action before Seale agreed to eject the pornographer and his staff. Protect your children and save your money, stay away from questionable contests and any person or company connected to the MAAI.
