Recieved unsolicited call - they claimed I "opted in" for extended warranty protection. Then claimed my name was all over the internet. Salesman extremely pushy rude. When I recalled the number it was MODERN ADD MEDIA - a company in Florida that generates leads. their phone numer is 954-834-1509. I filed a complaint as I am registered with the Do Not CAll Registry. Also investigated and found that the Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum said today the state will receive $2.9 million from a settlement with this Internet-based advertising company.


The agreement resolves allegations that Modern-Ad Media, a Deerfield Beach Internet advertising company, violated the Federal CAN-SPAM Act, which prohibits deceptive and misleading header information in commercial emails.

An investigation initiated by the Attorney General's CyberFraud Section of the Economic Crimes Division revealed that consumers were solicited through e-mails, Internet "pop-up" windows, or paid advertisements linked to Google and other search engines
