Modia Home Theater Reviews

Fraud and scam artists
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE LIARS, CHEATS, SCAMMERS, and anything else you can come up with.

Modia is a fraud and a scam. It's funny how these pages only show positive reviews. Let me tell you my story. On 11/28/10 I ordered a Samsung Led TV $400 cheaper than anyone. I took advantage of GEBank 36 mo. no interest financing and was approved the same day. The online ordering was fast enough. Then nightmare started. It was 12/15 and I still had no TV. Numerous calls resolved nothing. All the reps had the same story about how they didn't have the information and would have a manage call back. Nobody called back. I asked if they were on back order and they said no. They had the stock to deliver. Yet, I couldn't get them to commit to shipping my TV. They told me they had to wait for bank approval, then they wanted me to send a scan of my license, then they wanted me to sign a charge slip. On and on it went. They lied through their teeth. Meanwhile, I receive a bank statement showing that they charged my credit card on 11/28 -- the same day I placed the order. I needed to make the first payment in December and I didn't have a TV. I called the idiots at Modia and let them have it. They offered the same old excuses "I don't have that information, I'll have to check". In the process of reaching GEBank to complain, I found out that these scammers had already charged my credit card a second time on 12/8. Now I owed $2, 450.68 and no TV. I started a campaign of complaints to the Texas Attorney General, IC3 (a cyber crime investigation unit of the FBI), the Houston Better Business Bureau, Houston Police, and online complaints. All this noise got their attention. Then they responded. On 12/15 Modia's shipping clerk called me to say that the TV was ready to ship. He was shocked when I told him to keep it. Who would accept their TV after all this? I'm not done complaining. All the brands they carry will be getting my written complaint. They will have to stop their chicanery or they'll go out of business.

SCAMMERS
STAY AWAY FROM MODIA HOME THEATER. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. After 13 days, they have charged my credit card twice and NO TV!!! After posting my original complaint about Modia charging my credit card and not sending the TV I ordered, I called GEBank to cancel the account. During that process, I found out that Modia had charged the account again for a TV they have yet to ship. I called Modia today, and some clown named Ricky, told me the TV is not ready to ship -- imagine, it's now 13 days since they first charged my account on 11/28 and again on 12/8. I'm going to file complaint with Texas Attorney General.

Scammers?
On 11/28/10 I ordered a samsung 40" tv from Modia Home Theater. Since then, now 12 days, my emails go unanswered. I have made multiple calls and the people I speak with are hard to understand and their reasons for not shipping vary from person to person. Every questions I pose is met with "I'll have to check on that", "I'll get back to you" and then, nobody follows up. I call to follow-up and essentially I have to start over. Their chat line goes unanswered. They can't tell me what the status of the order is. I have dealt with Jason and Milhondra. All I get is excuses.

They sold the TV for $1, 197 plus $25+- for shipping. I took their offer for 36 months to pay with no interest. I have come to suspect that the real problem with this order is that they sold the tv too cheap to absorb the cost of 0% interest financing. To test this hypothesis, I offered to forget about the no interest financing and use my credit card instead. They offered to ship the tv immediately. The obvious question then, was; so why can't you ship the tv now with the 0% financing? They told me that they needed certain paperwork from the bank to release the tv. I told them I already had the "credit" card with their name on it as issued by GEBank and all that's necessary is for them to charge it. Well, the excuse shifted to "I need you to sign the charge slip". I argued some more with no upside. The next day, Hitesh sent me an email with the purported charge slip and asking for a scan of my driver's license. That was spooky. Funny thing was, the charge slip had nothing to do with me. The name on it was for Nicole XXXX, the account number was different and the order number was not mine. I have sent several emails about this and neither Hitesh or anyone else responded. SCAM?

For all I know, this could be a very legitimate business. However, based on the way its employees act it conjures up serious questions about the legitimacy of this organization. Based on my experience thus far over these soon to be 13 days, it seems to me that Modia Home Theater is either a very well organized scam operation or its owner and chief executive, Mihir Mody, hasn't a clue about managing anything.

I plan to file a formal complaint with the Texan authorities for Modia's suspicious activities and will advise GEBank about the shenanigans being perpetrated on its customers.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MODIA HOME THEATER TO ANYONE. THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY AND MANAGEMENT IS WEAK AT BEST.
