Makes false diagnosis
This time it was my wife - she was diagnosed as having two cavities that needed to be filled. We went to a different dentist (in private practice but not on our insurance plan) for a second opinion. His diagnosis, after x-rays and exam was that there were no cavities where they were claimed to be - nor anywhere else, for that matter. I went to Monarch to give them an opportunity to justify their findings and they said that it was a matter of opinion - now I ask you, is a broken arm a matter of opinion...are two teeth with cavities, level two and three?

Scam
I've had to visit several times over the last two years Monarch Dental in Corinth in order to correct billing mistakes they have made. The staff there is rude and argumentative and is unwilling to accept that they have made a mistake. Their attitude is that if you'll just shut up long enough for them to explain to you that you're an idiot, all will be fine. Last week, I went down to the office in Corinth to give them a copy of my Expanation of Benefits which shows that they will get paid as soon as they submit the correct information. They know me well there as I have had to make several visits over the last two years to straighten out other mistakes they have made. When I walked in the Account Manager was laughing and cutting up with the staff at the counter, obviously not very busy. When I asked to speak to her she told me that she was very busy and didn't have time to talk to me. I told her that it would just take a minute. She replied that she was "with a patient". I told her that I would wait to which she replied "I'm going to be a long time!". Yeah, right! This is how Monarch Dental office staff treat their customers and I for one have had with them and I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Lies and steals
They called me and said I am set up for my "FREE" cleaning so I asked is it free and they said YES. I had someone else call just to double check, because they use the gemmicks to get you in and charge you. So he called and they told him it was going to be free IF it is normal cleaning and if not then it would be 16-20 dollars. So I went in and when i was done, the bill was $66! So the rude office manager says either to pay or call the police on you!
WOW, I will NEVER visit there nor would I recommend anyone going there!

Unprofessional service
Even at the initial appointment, the waiting time was unacceptably long. The front desk staff was giggling the whole entire time. Also, they called me a few days after I made my initial appointment to reschedule because the hygienists decided to take the afternoon off, so I rescheduled for 2 days later. After I was told this second appointment was confirmed, I showed up to my appointment only to find that the office was apparently closed already, and I was told they called me to reschedule. So apparently, after confirming my once already rescheduled appointment due to their problems, they tried to reschedule, yet again, but failing to reach me, didn't bother to try calling me except that one time. I asked to be called by their doctor and was promised it would be done, and was it? Of course not. No big surprise since apparently customer service and professionalism is the last thing on their mind. Avoid this office if you can!

Lies and fraud
I went to Monarch Dental which is at the FM114 and Murphy road intersection. I had the same problem as Mary. S. When I called to set up an appointment, they knew I had only a Basic Dental plan, and that would cover only normal cleaning (which I had requested).
When I went to the office, the person at the front desk said that my insurance doesnot cover their deep cleaning costs (they would not be able to do normal cleaning which I had went there for). I told them I would come back next year with a Full Dental plan. I didnot want any deep cleaning. Then the front desk person said that they would try to fit in my cleaning costs with what the insurance will cover (ALL LIES!!!). Then I waited for 1.5 hrs to get the x-rays and the hygienist to tell me I have gum issues, and they would not be able to do a normal cleaning which I had spent after all!!! what a waste of time. Basically they took the insurance money for x-rays and just to tell me I need to come in for a deep cleaning later...I would have been o.k, if I had been just turned away. They made me wait to take the x-rays (basically taking my insurance money), and sending me home without any money. now they are asking me to come for a deep cleaning, which i have to pay out of my pocket...i was with a good dentist before, but wanted to try a dentist close by my home, as my dentist had moved far away. What a fraud!

Scam
I WAS a patient until I moved 4500 miles away. I have a tooth that needs repaired and my insurance will not cover it as the work is too new. I offered to let them fix it (as opposed to my current dentist). I need help to pay for the work. They basically told me I was out of luck but they would give me 25% off if I had them do the work, but I would need to be in town for the duration, which might be over 4 weeks.

Overcharging, unnecessary work
I had a front tooth that felt funny, my regular dentist had moved his office across town, so I made an appointment with Monarch Dental, which was closer.
The first thing they wanted to know what what kind of medical coverage I had. I don't have any, then they wanted to check my credit history. I was able to pay for an office call, though.
The dentist looked like she was still in high school.
She checked my teeth, then promptly told me I had cavities behind four of my front teeth. My other dentist, who is older with more experience had told me those were normal discolorations and not to worry. As I'd had those spots for years, I took him at his word.
This young person also pointed out a crown needed to be replaced, but ignored a crack in my front tooth.
Then they told me how much my work would cost: 1200.00!
They gave me the paperwork so I could start payments for it before making an appointment for my treatment.
I paid for the office visit and got the heck out. I called my old dentist, drove across town the next day and had him check me out.
He fixed the crack on my front tooth, again told me the discolorations were not cavities, and my crown is in great condition and did not need to be replaced at all.
The total cost was 75.00.
MONARCH IS A COMPLETE RIPOFF, no mistake.
I saw a lot of low income people with dental insurance in the office and listened to the employees putting each of them through the mill for expensive treatments. The better the insurance, the more work needed to be done.
Avoid-avoid-avoid!

Bad service
Cracked a molar in Febuary of 08'. went to the Denton location off Swisher/I-35E and was given a crown. was told by the young lady that it would be in there permanently. also, No Dentist came by to check the work like they have in the past.
today it fell out while I was eating fish. Monarch lied to me and did very poor workmanship on my tooth and charged me $800.00+ for it.
This has got to be the worst group of dental incompetants that I have ever come across.
Are there any Dentits in the Denton area that are reputable?

Don't waste your time
Don't waste your time at Monarch. They gave me a crown when it was probably not even necessary. Before going to Monarch, I was pain free with great teeth.
After Monarch, I cannot sleep because I am in so much pain. They have not adjusted the crown properly and I am dying of pain. Monarch is unprofessional and dirty. The hazard signs for the xray machines were colored with red crayons on post it notes. That should have been my first sign to get the heck out of there. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Go somewhere with dentists who have credentials...

Cruel doctor
My 9 yr old son's tooth was pulled without anaesthesia. After the dentist, Hoa Pham, administered the injection of anaesthesia, he went to take care of other patients. He came back about 45 minutes later to continue. Once he put the extraction tool in my son's mouth and began to pull, my son grabbed his arm and was saying I feel it, stop, stop. The dr. continued, I got up and said he is feeling it, the dr. continued. My son was in excruciating pain, crying, hitting the wall. All they did was giving me a cup of gauze.
