Like most smart people, I bought up a lot of really great domain names in 1997 - 1999 that I thought might be worth some $$$ in ten years. One of the domains I bought Smoke.net, LosingTheWeight.com, and a few adult domains like StreamingPorno.com (.net). Two years ago, I wanted to sell a few domains so I started searching around the Internet and discovered Moniker. I called them and spoke to several people. I had asked about the Adult Domain name auctions and I had told them I had a domain appraisal for StreamingPorno.com for $20, 000 from SEDO.com (GreatDomains.com). They pointed out they run several auctions, including a perfect one for my adult domain: InterNEXT in Las Vegas. In 2008, MaturePorn.com sold for $130, 000 during their auction and they recommended that I set my floor price at $100, 000 -- so I did. But there was one catch: I had to transfer my domain name from BulkRegister to Moniker before the auction. Reluctantly, I agreed.

Several months later I had no verification if my domain was seen or offered at the 2009 InterNEXT auction so I called again and they said TRAFFIC was another one in Los Angeles my domain would be seen at. Months go by and no one calls me about that auction either. Fast forward to January 2010 and I am alerted that my domain StreamingPorno.com was now pointing to a French company and was no longer pointing to Rackspace.com -- where I had it hosted on. I called Moniker very excited to learn where my check was and was shocked to learn that there was no record of my domain selling.

In fact -- it was relayed to me they claimed they tried to notify me about the domain renewal and I let it expire. Which was a lie -- because I had checked the email logs for any incoming emails for the past year from Moniker and found none containing any renewal information of StreamingPorno.com. I was promised logs, I was promised a return phone call. More than four weeks have gone by and I am learning that other people have suffered the same fate. Domains seem to "magically disappear, " from clients' Moniker control panels. All history of my domain even BEING on Moniker was erased.

I am currently inviting anyone who has had this problem to contact me as I am going to consider Class Action against Moniker for deceptive business practices. I have filed a complaint with the Florida BBB and all I want is my domain back and a written letter of apology or I want my $100, 000. Either one is acceptable for me. I was counting on this money for a medical procedure and it's not covered by my health care plan. I am not a gold digger and I am only asking for what's fair. My domain back or write me a check. If I was selling the domain, it was a package deal and the .NET would have been sold with it.
