Back in 07, I had NFCU finance a home for me for $360k at a fixed 6.75 interest rate. Back in March 09, I applied for a mortgage modification under Pres. Obama's new plan and they denied me (although I met the minimum criteria for getting one). They did this without any formal written notification. I had to call the 1 800 number for months straight trying to get a response. Afterwards, in June 09, I applied for a short sale and immediately had an all cash offer for $250k (although comp homes at that time were listed around $200-$240) my realtor submitted the offer directly to their "short sale specialist". They sat on the offer for months. Now in Sept 09, they have decided to foreclose on my home instead of doing the short sale, because I would not sign a promissory note stating that I would pay the difference of the short sale (a whopping $110k). They would rather lose money in a foreclosure than take a short sale. Their "short sale specialist" even had the nerve to get sporty with me and threaten to sue, garnish wages, etc... Are these people kidding? If you are thinking about getting a home loan (or any kind of loan) through Navy Federal Credit Union, THINK AGAIN. This bank is the most non business savvy, non customer service oriented bank in the world. THIS IS A TRUE STORY. Stay away from that place. My FICO score went from 700 (prior to the home loan) to 520 (today) because of those dummies.

Mortgage complaints and dissatisfied customers - Good new bad news and good news. You got a problem with your mortgage - take action. Can a loan get thrown out of foreclosure - Oh yeah. Can you do it yourself - Oh yeah. Can you get the actual loan to vanish - Yes!

Bad news its not for the weak at heart. Pack it, move and complain thereafter if you like. But...Look, we all now know Stated Income Liar Loans are showing borrowers earning three times there mortgage annual debt service. False this and false that and they say "you did it" and "you say" they caused it. It dose not matter. You must attack the lender from a position of weakness and threaten to expose them to more than a role in a liar loan - it wont do it.
